It has been said before and I believe it. A man needs challenges to overcome, he needs a sense of independence to be who he was meant to be. Have courage and continue to strive forward.

No better words have been spoken, my friend. We need challenges and independence to be who we were meant to be. I will continue to have courage and strive forward.
Thanks for the positive review.

You're not out of line at all. It feels great to have readers proud of me. So, we share left-handedness and arthritis in common.
Let's hope things continue to get better for both of us.
Enjoy the upcoming week.

Hi Jesse. I am so glad that you have risen to a new challenge. You remind me of my older brother who needed a lot of help from his wife (soon to be ex) but since they split up he has lost around 8 stone and is walking miles every day despite needing a new hip. I am so proud of him. I'm not saying you can do this but I never thought Id see the day that he did so well!! Good luck in your challenge. Stay positive!!

I'm glad you gave this update on how you're doing. You are showing a lot of determination. I'm left-handed, too, and I know it must be difficult when you try to use that hand. Best of luck with your upcoming surgery. I hope it's successful and does what you hope for. It is wonderful to be able to listen to music. Sometimes I listen to CDs of old radio shows. You need to know your limits and not try to do too much. All the best to you. judi

Thanks, Judi, for sharing about yourself and what we have in common. Being left-handed shows that we are in our right mind. Haha. I've heard that funny line before by a comic.
Have a wonderful upcoming week.

I hope I'm in my right might. Sometimes I wonder! At least I can still count the syllables for a 5-7-5 poem. judi

Jesse, accepting the challenge and doing it successfully is something to be proud of. I can understand how the newness would be a concern. What is also interesting about your post for me is that I am concerned about the opposite. I worry about the day I might become dependent on someone else. Thank you for writing this. Well done. Terry.

Yes, my brother who is 5 years older than I am is concerned about the day he will become dependent on someone else too. I think it happens to all of us as we grow older.
I have been dependent for so long that the opposite is worth celebrating for me.
Enjoying my own company is a great feeling!
Thanks for the honor of an exceptional rating and review!
Keep going as long as you can.

I hope it is all you want it to be. No one should suffer.
Not one single person. Have you realized that a lot of people on here are disabled? Have serious injuries and/ or diseases ? More and more people are coming out of the closet about their ailments. I say hurrah! you share a burden you lessen a burden. Good luck and good wishes. Karen

Yes, Karen, I am in very good company on this writer's site. We are a wonderful assortment of disabled with health issues. We cheer each other on and share our stories to lighten the load of someone else who might be in the closet, so to speak, about their health issues.
Thanks for your good wishes and good luck with my upcoming surgery.
Have a great day.

Good morning, Jesse!
Hooray!
You are on your way!
Ready - soon - to polka
The night away... :)
Well, at least that's my hope, Jesse!
What a journey this has been, and yet, what I have continually and consistently admired is your positivity and openness about all that has challenged you.
And I have also admired your perseverance throughout this entire chapter of your life to not give up in finding not only relief, but your independence.
So very proud of your accomplishments, and I'll be with you every step of the way!
"Nose to toes"
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Jesse!
Thank you for sharing!

Good for you Jesse. It is a good challenge and you will meet the challenge well. Being independent even for short periods will mean you have the security and assurance that you can manage if you have to and if you want to, and don't have to worry about being fully dependent on others which would make you feel quite vulnerable. Well done. Wendy

Thanks for your encouragement, Wendy. I am getting all charged up with the fact that so many of my friends, such as you, are happy for me and my journey towards self-care. Being vulnerable became second nature to me. Now, I love being alone and free from vulnerability.
Thanks for your continued support and friendship.
Have a good day.
