Well, I do think this is the most fun and amusing and delightful poem I've read in days. I loved it, from beginning to end and thought it was creative and clever. It is not easy to have a dialogue with yourself, but it is even more difficult to make it as amusing as you have done with this. Good luck in this contest. I think this is a winner. ;p MM

Hi John, I thank you so very much my dear friend for such kind words for my silliness. You are awesome. And that is part of the reason I really don't want to pay tribute to you for your birthday on Friday. Even if you don't feel comfortable giving me a little more info about you, do I at least have your permission to write a poem for you? And maybe tell me a little about your precious children that I know you love just like I love mine. They are our world I know so I hate to leave them out. Any grandchildren? I appreciate it and would like to write it yet tonight, as I have done much of my writing ahead of the the surgery tomorrow. Thank you again my dear friend.

Hi, Debi! I have two boys--Eric and Keegan. Keegan is a writer like his dad, and Eric is a sax musician and plays in a band in upstate NY named "Ten Most Wanted. Keegan enjoys scriptwriting, and I have been encouraging him to write a story, but to no avail! Lol. I will be sixty-four Friday, and my children are my most guarded possessions. I have no Grands-- yet! I'm enjoying my retirement and get out when I can, but when you're retired, you don't have to do a thing! :) I love telling working people I'm retired! Haha! I usually get the raspberries! HAHAHA. Anyway, that's all I got. I'm a simple guy. I mean, not in my mind but in my wants. Give me a glass of ice water and a good story idea, and I'm good to go! Thanks, Debi! I wish you much success with the operation, and I will send prayers your way.

John, I thank you so much. You are one of my favorites, as I have grown close to you since you have been such an awesome reviewer. That is why I am doing this to say thanks for giving me that when I couldn't review back. I hope this surgery will change all of that. I will work on it tonight, as they aren't sure if I will have good enough sight for a few days. This particular surgery is experimental to get the scar tissue from the shingles. Thanks for the info, the well wishes and for your friendship. I hope I can do you justice.

(Example: Why did the can crushed quit his job? Because it was soda pressing!)

Never allow anyone to dissuade you from being your authentic self. You are a funny, original goof, and I love that. That to me is one of the admirable quality in a woman. I avoid women who take themselves too seriously. If she can't laugh , she cannot hang with me.
