Beautiful! What can I say loss of someone dear There are no words for that except to tell you this whenever you think of her or speak her name, she turns to smile at you each and every time...3 steps up and one and slight shift to the right and there she will be. Forgive me if this sounds like d*** or weird. I'm medium by profession my condolences to you and to the loved ones of Megan and I hope that you all are well. Having said all that your poem is very well written a beautiful ode to your friend and an honor to read I must say you do her well by writing. This and she knows so I find no issues with grammar or aesthetics. That's where a very well done Palm with a talented hand smartly put together. Thank you for the submission thank you for sharing. I hope you have a good day.!

-Lovely artwork and nice presentation, Jessica.
-What a tragic story about your friend, but it
was wonderful that you payed tribute to her
when your daughter was born.
-You wrote a beautiful poem for Megan,
and I think the love from your poem and
the beauty of the sunflowers is reaching up to her.
-You do a great job telling her story with
effective imagery and rhyme that reaches our heart.
-You make very good points in the last two verses, like
"Maybe this light was always meant to save her."
-Thanks for sharing this.

What a tragic theme for your very moving and heartfelt poem. It is beautifully written, relating the sunflower to the light and joy she brought into your life. I am so sorry for your loss, and hope you will be able to find some comfort despite the pain. A worthy and lovely tribute to her.

This was a very heart wrenching yet heartwarming poem. I could feel the love for Megan Lee in this poem. It was so close to a perfect six. But this line I felt had a little hiccup. (Aiming for flowers to nourish each one.) I thought maybe a comma after flowers. But this is just my opinion and this is definitely a solid five star poem.

Hi Jessica,
I find there is always something so special when someone immortalises a personal story within a poem or prose.
Not only did your beautiful description rhyme and flow down the page within this story, but I found the comparison to Megan's favorite flower in different lights, ampt up the story so cleverly contained within.
Also, thank you for not only sharing such an obvious painful experience, but sharing the notes, tragic, sad and enlightening. I love the thought of your tribute to your best friend and cousin... your beautiful daughter, Morgan Lee.
With our thoughts we create...
indelible memories.
Kind regards,
James.

This is such a very sad tale of a life cut short because of drunkenness and I expect the husband has been remorseful ever since. I am so sorry for your loss Jessica, to lose your friend in such circumstances is so very tragic. Your poem is heartfelt and enduring. What a poignant poem, Jessica, but well written. I loved
the rhymes and the comparison of Megan with sunflowers.
Yes, both are bright and cheery. I pray you will remember her
that way. Your monorhyme within each verse was awesome.
You did a super job with your tribute to your beloved friend.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

Jess, this was a fabulous tribute to your friend who died under very unfortunate and ironic circumstances when her husband who is the real culprit got away unscathed, at least physically. I'm sure he will mentally and emotionally carry that guilt for the rest of his life.
This was beautifully written, and I loved the metaphor of the sunflower. And that's very sweet how your friend's name was the inspiration for your own daughter's name.
I have to say that you've come a long way with your meter. It was excellent and made this poem so much more endearing. I won't say pleasurable because of the subject matter, but certainly pleasing to the ear. Very well done! Jim
