I agree that it's a grave error to try to mould someone into the image we want them or think they should be. How dare anyone do that. The one person who loves us as were are, but is interested in what we are meant to be, still asks permission to mould us, but is interested only in making us into a gracious joy machine, it sounds like you are missing her Terry, beautifully wrutten, blessings Roy

Hello, Terry,
What a moving and beautiful tribute for your beloved wife, Zoe.
Your love for her and one another comes through clearly.
What a blessed life the two of you enjoyed together.
I am always reminded:
God gave us memory that we may have roses in December...
May your memory of Zoe continue to bloom for many, many years to come...
Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for sharing Zoe with us. Her zest for love and life are an inspiration. Love is wanting a person to be themselves. We all hope to love and be loved. Sounds like you succeeded in both. You can bet my next mimosa will toast you both.

What a heartfelt way to honor your lovely wife's memory,
Terry. Your words were straight from your heart. I loved
reading about the highlighted birthday celebrations she
had. I loved the way you acknowledged how you let her
be herself. Zoe had an amazing career to her determination
and perseverance. Her picture is beautiful.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

Well, Zoe and I have this in common: The two reasons I married my husband was because he made me laugh (even when I was in a bad mood), and he allowed me to be me. Managing me was not an option, and he accepts that to this day. When I told him, at age 55, that ?" His answer: "You're going to do it anyway." And he was in the audience cheering me.
You had a good one with Zoe - loving and FUN!
A beautiful tribute, Terry.

Yes, nice job on your verbs! I did notice but forgot to comment on that. You're a great student! LOL.

You two had an amazing life, each letting the other be themselves. That's how it should be in every marriage. You were a wonderful husband who made every birthday a joyous occasion. How lucky you were to have each other.

She sounds like she kept you on your toes ... in a very good way. I love couples who embrace each other's idiosyncrasies and quirks along with their attributes. You were a very luck man to have enjoyed her company fir so long. Gretchen

As you know, my last six star every week is my most important. It is there in case a masterpiece jumps out at me towards the end of the week. However this time I did kind of expect it to be coming from your way. Such a beautiful story that made me smile, laugh, (and yes, cry again) but mostly admire her for knowing what she wanted, knowing she deserved it, expected it and got it. And I do love that you wanted that for her. To cage a lovely bird such as she was, would have been a travesty to her too short of time here on this Earth. One more thing, maybe she knew and maybe she didn't; that she would be such an inspiration, even after she was gone. That her legacy of laughter and love would shine through the talent and heart of her husband, and always leave us wanting more. Maybe she wasn't born into royalty or come from a family with a gold mine, but it sounds to me that you two were richer than most in your 44 year marriage. And just as you have given one to us, you also continue to give her a gift of keeping her memory alive. It would be such a waste to not do so......
What a remarkable woman you were! Happy Birthday Zoe!
