Firstly, Debi, your motto was perfect for this poem and for
your personal life. While you wrote it may not be original,
the way you incorporated it into you writing and life is. The
unique format--the end rhymes and colored font changes--
worked well. I liked how each verse had a story--one filled
with issues , followed by one that resolved those issues. The
smooth flow between the two alternating themes worked
well, too. You gave readers specific details with your use of
descriptive words which painted a picture of each Issue for
readers. I liked the name you gave to your format. The artwork
was exceptional.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes in the contest, Jan

Hi Debi, this is a poem of truth. No matter what our problems in life may be God and family should always come first.
Your poem reads and flows well and your message is clear, especially:
When things seem to be at their worst
Then God and fam'ly should come first
(Problems can grow as high as mountain, but there is nothing like having family and good friends to be with at those times.)
Another great poem. Beautiful presentation. Well done. Thank you for sharing. You are the best SOTU. Xo. M

I like the cheery atmosphere of this poem. It seems to need an added effort in the rhythm maybe? when you change subjects. I'm not sure. I liked it but felt it was missing something.

Hi there. Thanks for reading and reviewing. This poem was purposely made to have two rhyme meters. It is called a Merry-go-Rhyme. It was the perfect time to use those formats because every other verse was answering the one before that. It was in my authors notes. But I do thank you for the kind comments.

Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. Yes, bad things are going to happen. It's how we look at that makes the difference. With God's help we will come to see that it's not the end of the world. Good luck with the contest.

Having to look on the bright side is a very good attribute. Actually "cool" in fact.
Let me say, your "Merry~go~Rhyme Poem"
hit many aspects we endure in a day in our lives. Well penned, Debi.
Your granddaughter created that artwork? I am very impressed. Please let her know.
Cheers to the impressive poem!

This year, my goal has been to look for the silver lining. Last year I started my gratitude journal which I still do everyday. When you try or train yourself to see the best in life, it changes your perspective. If something falls through for me, I immediately think He did this for a good reason. He knows what's best for me. I'm at peace. Your poem was a good reminder of what faith and family and friends can do to help pull you up.
Great job. Gretchen.
P.s. the artwork is stunning.

You cite some very familiar problems and situations that we all, I am sure, have been the victim of at one time or another. You did it with such ease and poetic fluency as well.
Nicely done Debi
So, so, so good to read you once again.

Gary, it is so so sos good to have you back. You have no idea how worried some of us have been about you. The main thing is that you are back and I know that my prayers have been answered. Thank you for giving me the brightest side to this day, week and perhaps month or better. I just pray also that it means that you are well enough to be here and that you will stay now.
Yes, this was an unusual post and the different rhyme formats I thought would bother some, but it is doing pretty good. Thank you for your wonderful comments, the six stars, (that feel like a whole sky full) and for the best gift of all. Having our dear friend back with us.
