Hi Gmg,
Thank you for this very instructive piece on misdirection and how to use it. It's something that I'm going to kidnap and keep and use as a quick reference for when I'm working on a book.
Great idea!
Susan :)

Thank you for sharing this writing guidance and advice with us. It's great to have a refresher course every so often because we tend to get into bad habits. I enjoyed reading.

Thank you for that. Very useful and advice well worth taking on board. Maybe you could do something about how to grab the reader with the opening sentence or paragraph?

Hi Malcolm. I think I did a piece a while ago on openings. I'll see if I can dig it out. G

This is expertly written with plenty of reasons why it is good to learn the art of misdirection. I was impressed with the title and picture of the signs with no words on them. The title drew me in to read this and what's more I learned a heck of a lot about how to fool the reader without making them feel foolish. The ending of this piece was as good as the examples you gave. I especially liked the forest gump example of an unwitting narrator.
Thanks for the knowledge.
Jesse

Wise advice to writers here and thinking up a magical plot line with a mystery ending is not easy, but it can be done and you gave some great examples here. I loved 'Great Expectations', Dickens' always brought us down to earth with a bang, I enjoyed your suggestions that will inspire the writers on Fanstory, love Dolly x
