On sweeti, I love hearing about others who have such a relationship with daughter in-love. My mother in-law wasn't the nicest person, so l always swore that would be the best I could be someday. What a beautiful story about your family. Bridges normally hover over rivers. Your son and daughter-in-law married on the bridge made your life whole. So blessed with your grandsons. Well done and much love involved. K xx

K, you are sweet! My grandsons couldn't have walked over because there's normally lots of traffic on the road, but also water in the Creek, so that bridge is old fashioned rounded bridge w character. My son was quite the carpenter! Thanks for your lovely comments, my very dear friend!

There is something so special about developing a close and loving relationship with a daughter-in-law, or son-in-law. I know I adore my own like they are my own children and THAT makes all the difference, especially when it comes to forming those all-important bonds with the grandchildren! How great they live next door ~ with a bridge! That is truly a special blessing!

There is something so special about developing a close and loving relationship with a daughter-in-law, or son-in-law. Love this. The bridge is such a pivotal thing. Both physical and spiritual. Bridging the two separate entities and joint the generations. Your poetry reveals so much about your relationship with your family. You show its importance in your many poems. These are lovely to read. Gretchen

These are truly beautiful words from a mother-in-law to her son's wife. I feel the same about my daughter-in-law and son-in-law. From daughter-in-law came two daughters, and from our daughter, two handsome sons. We're thankful for the parenting both families have done. And now we have two grandsons-in-law, two granddaughters-in-law, and 5 great grandchildren, with another due in April. God is good!

When I first came to fanstory I had already been writing for my family, poems I hoped would one day encourage and propel my grandkid into fulfilling God's purpose in their lives, and my dear children too, for we are fulfilled in the generations, that is God's purpose and His plan, my sons in law are the perfect choices for my girls, and I'm so grateful to God. Makes me wish I hadn't used all my 6's already! I really think that FS needs to give us more than 6. People are just too good now.
This one is a keeper for sure, your daughter (in-law) must love it. It's very sweet. I love the idea of the bridge. I think that someday, one of your grandchildren will move into your house, and their kids will use the bridge to go visit their grandparents! ;)
