Nice poem, but I am more interested in sending out a prayer for your successful surgeries. I will bet that belonging to this group has helped to keep your spirits up.

Hello there Paul! I am out of surgery and in my room, as of about 6 PM. They tell me that they feel it was a success and that my leg is straight and all else went well too. I do believe all the prayers from my many friends here played such a role in that. I haven't That is why even though it was not my intent to ever share that particular bit of info, when I got to the last stanza something kept nudging for me to add that and ask for prayers. So I thank you with all my heart for them and my dear friend also for the very kind words.

I'll remember you in prayer, and I hope your operations will be successful. You've written a lovely poem, with smooth flow and excellent rhyme, and I love your last line. Sending you best wishes for your entry in the contest, and for your future writing.

It was never my intent to share so much, but as I got closer to the end I felt something nudging me to ask for prayers. And.I thank you my dear friend for them. At the time being I am still in icu in the hospital but praying for things to start turning around. Thanks again my friend!

Thank you for sharing about yourself, Debi! Glad that you are here. It sounds like you have a wonderful family and of course, your faith in the Lord makes all things "swell." I'm saying a prayer now for your surgery to go smoothly and without any complications!
Best wishes in the contest!

Quite an open description of you and your family. Your poetry gives license to the sonnet. It has its rhymes, and an amazing fluidity in their delivery. I still must work harder in mastering rhyming words with fluidity of content. Good well done.

Michael, I apologize in the delay of thanking you for the lovely review and words. What wonderfully kind words that I appreciate so much, and also the very gracious six stars. You are so very kind my dear friend.
I will be in the hospital for a while so thought this would be a good time to thank my reviewers and write, but the the pain medication has my head spinning quite a bit so forgive me if some of what I say is a little bit off. : )

Hope you feel well

What stands out to me, Debi, is your positive outlook on life.
I believe that has helped you with any and all health issues
you faced or are facing. Your words were well thought out
with great descriptions which create great imagery. I love the
monorhyme of each verse. Your words flowed smoothly and
spoke of love, family, faith, and living life to the fullest. Your
notes were poignant. I appreciate you sharing such personal
information. But, it all points to your awesome attitude. I will
keep you in my prayers.
Best wishes in the contest, Jan

Hello my dear friend. It had been bothering me that I hadn't reached out to thank people for their reviews and since I had to stay in bed so far, I did a little bit here and there as I could. They were finally able to get me stabilized by medication and now just hoping that they will soon start to stay that way on their own. Thank you Jan for your lovely review of this, and I had one prepared for a contest I had reserved for a while back. I just want you to know how much I appreciate you and the loveliest of words and mostly your beautiful prayers. You are such a kind and caring friend. I miss all of my friends a lot here and can't wait to see the greatest friends here on a full time basis again.

Hello my Debra Lee, you're as sweet as can be.
You lighten my days and brigten my nights.
You're sent from above with a heart filled with love.
A loyal friend (and SOTU) to the very end.
My prayers I say each day for you.
Debi, your poem is so warm and heartfelt, and I can feel your love and joy of life. I especially liked:
When I care for someone, I have oceans of emotions
They bubble up inside of me, as if they were love potions
(D, you'll have to bottle your potion and sell it ... 'cause it's contagious.)
Also of note:
I have my quiet times; so not to miss when Jesus knocks
I'm open with my faith in God, of Christian Orthodox
(D, my father's side of the family are Russian Orthodox ... how about you?)
Debi, I have been praying for you. Tomorrow, you have my love and prayers. I'll be thinking of you and waiting to hear you're ok.
D, something positive is going to happen, you just wait and see.
Fantastic photo choice. Thank you for sharing yourself so generously. You do that beautifully. Xooxoxo. M ~ SOTU ~ LateBloomer

Oh Hon, my head is spinning so bad that it took me an hour just to finally respond to your beautiful review. Plus I keep falling asleep so thanks for being the greatest sotu.

Me again. I am so sorry, but on my review page, I don't know if they didn't show your whole review or if I just missed it, and the adorable poem.
I also seem to have missed your incredible six stars. I just had a feeling something was missing, and sure enough it was. Thank you so very much my sweetest of friends.
My head really is in a bizarre way, I am watching this show that really isn't like me; called Breaking Bad right now. : )

This is a nice poem telling us about yourself. You've also done a great job of making your rhymes work without stretching it. I certainly will pray for you as you come out of surgery with some new parts. Best of luck with your story of you.

Sorry for getting back so late. Went a round with a killer hornet and lost. Hope by now you are out of ICU and doing much better.

Surgery is never fun, but if you get the desired results, it's almost always worth it. I will add you to my prayer and I hope that all goes well. And hopefully, you'll be up and walking even sooner than the doctors expect you to. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Ric, I never thought about sharing that aspect of my life with my friends here, but when I read the prompt, and started writing about me, something said I was doing this to not really share, but ask for prayers.
I sure do appreciate your kind words and prayers, and I thank you again my friend for the caring review.

Oh my Dear Debi,
You are so brave to open up and reveal so much about your life. Even through difficulties, you sound up-beat and positive. I suffer with Rheumatoid Arthritis and all sorts of spinal issues and walking issues, which I have NEVER mentioned on FanStory. I admire your honesty and am already praying for your successful surgery and ability to walk by Christmas. Also, best wishes in the contest.

Thank you so much! I always hesitated about sharing it with my friends here as I didn't want it to see that I was looking for sympathy. But after two spine surgeries and many limb ones too, the lupus just kept taking away. However, like you, we don't let our pain define us. And after God led me to all of you wonderful friends, my heart is so full and I knew that I needed to ask for prayers. I am sorry too for the suffering you go through. I know that my rheumatoid arthritis which always comes with lupus is the most painful and crippling factor. The doctors had pushed opioids on me years ago, and after ten years of them, I fought hard to ween off and become opioid free. I guess that is one of the things I worry about most as they tell me I will need them again. I will pray for you as well and thank you for trusting me as a friend and sharing your story. God Bless!
