Amazing, the plot just keeps on getting thicker, Sandra. First Margot/ Meg finds a letter addressed to Lady Emma when Mary, the maid hurts herself. Then Bessie in ghost form learns that Lord Brandon knows the secret of his wife. Bessie further is surprised when Crankston-Smythe shows up at the door. Did someone say 'party'? Very well done and greatly enjoyed. Hugs!

Mary turned red-rimmed, beseeching eyes towards Margot, (and) hiccupped and sniffed as she tried to get the words out. 'I'm sorry, Mistress!' (delete) The 'and' is not needed and, in my opinion, it makes this sentence sound jerky. Thank you for sharing and have a great week.

No dearth of suspects! Hard to keep track of who's who. Sugg: include citation in notes as to who Emma is--Lady Emma Carruthers (soon to be Lady Crawley?)--no mention of her or Lord Carruthers. Also, clarify who Charles is by including his full name in notes: Lord Charles Brandon (and insert other character's first names).

Hi, Liz.Thanks so much for this, I've just spent some time updating and adding to the character's list. Everyone will get a better idea of who they are now. I don't know why I didn't think of that!! I can be such a dolt! There are a few suspects, but they will be sorted in the next chapter. The thing is, Meg personally, hasn't done anything wrong to the suspects. Thanks again, my friend. Love and hugs, Sandra xx
I'm sorry I'm late replying, I'm not feeling too good at the moment.

Are you feeling any better? Not Corona, I hope!
-
I think it is. I'm tired, coughing, got a temperature, and my breathing is awful. But I've had all my vaccinations, so hopefully, it won't last too long. I'm being tested tonight. Fingers crossed, it could just be a heavy cold. Thanks for asking, Liz. 🤗

Any word yet? I'll check back. Did you already have corona? My daughter got both Delta and Omicron, 5 months apart.

Wow, Sandra, a lot was revealed in this chapter. All of these people are despicable and to know that one of them actually had the lovely Meg killed is scary. So much for family love! What a bunch of jealous, selfish, people. Bessie has had a very busy day! Good thing she can get around quickly! My hope is that each of these people get what is coming to them. I can't wait to read more! Enjoy your week. Hugs:) Sally

I know, and poor meg is innocent in all this. There are some nasty characters in the story, but never fear! Margot and Bessie are coming to the rescue ... hopefully!!! Lol.
Thank you so much for this lovely review and all the stars! You're a gem, my friend. Love and hugs, Sandra xx

What a wonderful writer you are. I was right there with Bessie, listening to all that was being said. The thick plottens. lol. Almost everyone has an agenda, it's hard to figure out the real villain that's after Meg.
- I'would be fine

It looks like everyone is out to get rid of Meg, but only one will be the culprit. All these names are spinning around in my brain and I can't seem to make sense of any of it. You opened a keg of worms with this chapter, Sandra. Good Job, Nancy:)

I know, and poor Meg hasn't done anything wrong. Bessie and Margot will sort it out, hopefully!! Thank you so much for this lovely review, and the golden star, I really do appreciate them both. Sending love and hugs, my dear friend. :)) Sandra xx
I'm sorry I'm late replying, I'm not feeling too good at the moment. Graham thinks I have Covid again, and want's me to take a test.
-
I hope that is not the problem, Sandra.
Let me know. I care. I'll say a little
prayer for you. Hugs Nancy:)
-
Aw, thank you, Nancy. I've just had a little sleep, I'm so tired at the moment. Hugs back. xxx
-
I am sleeping very little at night lately. I have been troubled with Restless Legs Syndrome. I'm tired too. Get better, dear friend. :)
-
And you, too, Nancy. There is nothing worse than not being able to sleep when you're so tired. I've never heard of Restless Legs Syndrome. I'll look it up on Google. Love you. xx

They truly are, Shirley, and now Bessie and Margot have to sort it all out. That will be fun!! Thank you so much, my friend, for this lovely review and the golden star. I can't thank you enough for you continued support. Warm hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xx
Comment from Pam (respa)
-An excellent chapter, Sandra, and I think you've stirred things up a bit.
-The suspects are coming out of the woodwork, showing they are up to no good.
-You did a good job with the letter and Margot's reaction to it. I wonder what Bessie will say. She always has good ideas.
-Bessie gets an eyeful when she sees Gwendolyn with Jenkins. I like her comment about "almost feeling sorry for Gwendolyn."
-Then she encounters more intrigue at Lord Brandon's home. We don't know who the dinner is going to be for, and things are contentious between Lord Brandon and his wife.
-Then we learn that she has been most unfaithful to her husband, but says she will be his undoing, but not if he has anything to do with it.
-Is she and invalid or not? She certainly gets around, ha, ha.
-Once again, Bessie makes a good observation about Meg being the only innocent one.
-Finally, Crankston-Smythe appears and Bessie is going to the party!!!
-You do a great job with all of the mystery so we have no idea who is really the culprit in all of this. Seems like most of them are involved in something, but who will be the one trying to get rid of Meg, that is the quesiton!!! But my money is on Bessie.
-Great job, my friend.

Thank you so much for this detailed review, Pam! Between Bessie and Margot, they have a few possibilities. But, which one dunnit? The butler is the obvious one, but could that be too obvious? I think I could turn this into one of those murder-mystery weekends that people act out. Lol. Thank you for the lovely golden star, too, my friend, I appreciate all of this, and you. Love and hugs, Sandra xxx

You are very welcome and deserving of the stars and review, Sandra. I had thought about an Agatha Christie type story where you never know who it is until the end!!! Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. A test couldn't hurt. Take care and be well.
-
Thanks, Pam, I will. I think it's just a heavy cold, which is messing with my asthma and chest, as usual.
I think we'll find out who the murderer is, either in the chapter before the last one, or the one before that. :)) xxxx
-
Thanks for sharing, and take care. I am assuming we will find that out sometime before the book ends:):):) You gave us a lot of choices!

My word you have worked some red herrings into the plot this time. I thought the broken picture might hold the clue to it al but it turns out to be indicative of just one of several possibilities.
How is Margot going to be able to settle back into her mundane job at the bank when she gets back to her own time again?
