So far I have been spared the agony of having to mourn my beloved partner. I have had to mourn my parents, one sister, my oldest daughter, a plethora of other relatives; uncles, aunts and cousins. Each loss hurts and leaves a particular hole in my heart. Death hurts so much and it continues to take loved ones away from those who love them so much.

Yes. It hurts very much. He?s my brother. We lost him last June. Tuesday will be a year. His loss was one of the hardest I have had to endure. The older I get the more that will happen I?m sure. Thank you for your review and for your words of encouragement.

Such a sweet poem, touching and in a way, haunting. It is nice to know you loved your brother so much and, having just lost a much-loved sister, I felt great empathy as I read of your feelings for him. Thanks for sharing this honest and well-done reminiscence. I liked it very much. MM

What a nice tribute to a loved one. "...hallways of my mind..." is a great phrase. The picture shows the face of a gentle giant. You will see him again on the other side.

He was a gentle giant. Six foot three and 300 lbs of gentleness. Thank you so much for your review and the reminder of his giant gentleness.

Yes. I miss him terribly. Tuesday is one year. He was always a great man but the last seven years of his life were very special. Thank you so much for the review.

Belinda,
This sounds like the poem of remembrance and grief of a much loved spouse that has died. It also infers a meeting again in heaven.
Keep writing and stay happy.
Great choice of artwork.

Oh my, I hate to hear this story. He looks as if something serious is on his mind in this picture. He is a nice looking man with great thoughts. It looks as if was fishing. Thank you for sharing, again, I hate to hear this and may he rest in peace.

My sincere condolences, Belinda, on the loss of your
beloved brother. Your poem is a great tribute to him.
Your words are descriptive and paint a great picture
of him and your relationship with him. It's been a year
and half since I lost my only brother.
Respectfully, Jan

It?ll be a year Monday since we lost my only brother. They?re all special but when you only get one it?s really special. He is greatly loved and missed mightily. Thank you so much for your review.

Hi Belinda,
there is so much growth, reflection and love woven into these... your words.
I feel every word of this loss and this love.
If I could suggest just a upgrade in your format?
Only to enhance your words for more impact and pause.
Not a day goes by that I don't miss your face.
I try to capture who you were,
every picture laced with happy smiles...
fishing days, work and so much more.
It lines the hallways of my mind like smoke...
forgotten lore.
I'll tell your tales of misery and woe...
but too, of battles won.
Then others can know the gift of you...
the treasure of all you've done.
I'm thankful for the life of you...
And all the days gone by.
So, Belinda, just an example of my take and read of your beautiful words... just something to add the impact of your sincerity. Sometimes just a little tweak in how another reads your words makes all the difference to its delivery... and me personally, I'd center the words as well. That way they sit better on the page.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful poem... and your sad loss.
With our thoughts we create...
indelible memories.
Kind regards,
James.
