"Little Boy Lost" nicely tells a story filled with days of worry and work to fine the boy in so few words. It has a sound for a longer story of perhaps a family story in Australia.

Amen - this miracle is a blessing. So many times we hear these stories and the endings are heartbreaking. Such a dear little boy who could have been lost forever, but the Lord wanted us to see His power in saving this boy. An excellent and heart-lifting presentation.

Heads up--I count 76 words (twice). Fine work in a flash--stunning depiction of ominous event as to the details of the hostile environment. heartwarming ending!

Elizabeth, Thanks for the heads up . I have checked and I have word count of 79, My computer says 80. My partner will check it out soon.
In any event, the response has been very good overall. Thanks for your support. Take care and have a Happy New Year.

Always count manually--the computer counts dashes as words if surrounded by spaces--conversely, if you use a long dash (double--) not surrounded by spaces, the dash connects two words, which are thus counted as a single word. (I've been told that regular hyphenation is allowable as one word.)

Very inspiring true story. This had to be a great moment of joy for everyone. I can imagine a child lost, all alone and the absolute thrill of finding that child alive and well. This is a very touching and heartfelt story with a positive outcome. Thanks for sharing this story.

I'm so glad he was found! That could have ended very badly. Yes, in the Australian bush, I think it was a minor miracle that he was found. Good luck in the contest.

Your contest entry reads well. Your words are well thought out without fluff. I like the ones about if trees could talk. Yes, miracles do happen.
Best wishes in the contest.
Respectfully, Jan

I remember this story or one that was very similar from the news a little while ago. A miracle indeed. Nicely recounted in your short flash fiction, or should that be flash fact? LOL
