' Unresolved ' , is an extremely well-written and entertaining piece. Not for a moment would I attempt to answer this talented writer's rhetorical question. I look forward to seeing your next post.

JLR,
I thought you would ponder the meaning of life and death under the oak, not who would keep your collector car in turn when you can no longer do it yourself. Maybe you should think of teaching someone to take your place in its care. I like the metaphor of aging in the tree bark.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay heatlhy
Happy Holidays.

I see what a car lover you are. I hope someone will inherit the '66 Chevy Nova and continue to give it the same loving care. Enjoyed your "love" story.

They don't seem to clean and gap spark plugs. And change the points. But modern cars with their technology tend to work more efficiently than they once did. But the love of the old style character and flashy design of the older vehicles seem very attractive to many. But who will clean a gap my spark plugs? Beautifully written Jim, blessings Roy

It was very interesting to read your philosophical take on "who will do the work when I am gone?". Our culture and social mores are changing so quickly that I also wonder who will have developed a work ethic when our generation is gone. Great job on this write and I wish you luck in the contest, Jim.

Oh those days of old. I love the picture of the car. It brings back memories. Yes, I remember when vocational training was taught in school. The boys took auto mechanics and the girl took home economic. Those were the we days.

A good poem for this contest, good luck. Now, I was a Pontiac guy, had a 66 GTO in college, wish I still had it. The young folks who read your poem are wondering...gap?...Sparkplugs? Excellent work!

-Good image and
presentation, Jim.
-You wrote a good poem
with effective imagery
and a good topic.
-I like the opening lines
about sitting under
"the mighty oak" and
how you reflect on the
nature of things.
-The closing section is
very good, and I agree with
you about who will be left
to work on our cars and other
industrial objects because
we are not giving our students
a chance to learn vocational skills.
-A well written poem; good luck.
