Ah, payback is sweet. Sometimes people truly just get into the habit of saying certain things and don't even realize they say it. In this story, Billy has latched onto something he probably liked when he first heard it. I'm glad Arthur had the chance to give it back to him. Well written.

Thank you. Although Arthur was sick and tired of hearing this thing over and over again, there was no malice in his repaying his friend with the same comment he had grown tired of hearing.

Okay, maybe I saw some of that coming, but I laughed any way. They say payback is hell, so Billy got a good taste of it. They also say revenge can be sweet, so Arthur got a good taste of that too. Good Job!

Thank you Terry. It had to happen at some point, and this way he did not snap and say something even more hurtful.Ha, ha

One day, someone like Billy in your story is going to find their conditioned response at last is really hilarious, and everyone will be roaring with laughter. The sad thing is that if you are as thick as Billy you won't understand why.

Ha, ha. You are so right. Some people can not see a tree while standing in the midst of a forest. Thank you Dear Sir.

From the amazed picture to the last line I found your story to be engaging and well written. It would be irritating to hear that comeback so often from a person. Arthur finally had his chance to retaliate. Good job! Nancy:)

I have a feeling Billy wasn't to happy about that come back. I do understand the feeling though. My main suggestion for this post is to put physically put in a space for the paragraph break. I did enjoy reading.

This is very well written and what a twist! It is a clever example of actually showing exactly what you mean...while, at the same time, also surprising the reader concerning the expressed emotions (or lack of) that must be involved in such a situation for the offending character, and the readers further contemplation.

First of all, the picture attracts readers with such a title. Excellent choice.
The story is well written. It attracts readers to find out what other things Arthur might complain.
The ending is a surprise.
Excellent job.

Sounds like the payback came with a huge wallop using the same "You should have seen that coming." Makes me think of all the times someone could have said those words to me, and been right. LOL. Thanks for sharing another fine post. I wish I had a six.

Thank you. Your great comments feel better than a six star review.

This was an interesting story. I can see how annoying that kind of thing can be. I think it happens when a person feels he must respond but doesn't know how, or maybe the person just isn't interested in the conversation so he cuts off any further exchange with his stock response. Frankly, I'd get tired of Arthur's constant grousing. Good job. I liked the ending.

-A good image and
story to go with it, nomi.
-It flows well with
good examples of Arthur
trying to talk with Billy,
and he would just respond
with the same reply.
-That would be really
annoying to me:)
-I guess Arthur got in the last word!
-Well done. Your notes are appreciated, too.

Thank you. It is a frustration to me to review a post where I am not sure of the author's intent and there is nothing to help the reader understand.
