Yes, I can totally share your feeling of frustration over today's world. Scammers, telemarketers, terror acts, divided nations - that pollute the heart and mind.
Excellent creative imagery and visuals and I love your artistic presentation.
Good luck in the contest.

Thank you so much for the review and nice comments. There is a lot that accounts for the many things wrong with our world today.

Everything has turned out to be a deal, I'll scratch you back, and you do the same. This is a good contest. I've read several entries. What a wonderfully written poem. I wish I had a six for you.
Good luck in the contest!
Have a great day, and God bless.

An understandable fear as our world is crumbling before our eyes. As a Christian, I see it in a more biblical perspective and light. My faith helps me make it through these days of uncertainty.
Sending you my best today as always and best wishes for the upcoming contest,
Sally :))

Thank you Sally. Of course God is the answer, but when family members refuse to look for truth and accept anything they see on social media at face value, it is a bir frustrating.

"Fear For the Country's Future", is a well-written, but more than a little depressing piece. It was a somewhat dubious pleasure to read this poet's work. Rubbing the truth doesn't make it easier to accept. Good luck with the contest. Please let me know how you get on?

Thank you so much for the review. It is out of character for me to write depressing poems and I realalized this one wasn't going to be a popular one. I am frustrated, more with family and close friends, who acceept things blindly from social media sites without bothering to check to find out the source or whether or not they contain truth.
Dear Anon,
You're very welcome.
Take care and have a good week end,
the Duchess

You did a great job with this poem, setting forth the situation our world is facing. It's not just one country or another anymore, either; it's basically the entire free world (everything connected to the the internet, that's not either a fascist communist state or a militant theocracy). There is a wide sense of division among people, particularly within democracies, where it is so easily expressed and easily visible.
You have described, in your verses, both the frustration and the fear, quite well. It makes our free nations quite vulnerable, and ironically, less free. Your image is excellent and very well chosen.
God can help to unify people, but how many people are turning to him sincerely?

Thank you so much for the review and for your in depth comments. I am disturbed that people all over the world are so divided. You are right. God is love and love unnites. It doesn't divide.

You're very welcome, dear Beth. You continually surprise me -- I didn't know this was you!
Yes, our world is really in turmoil. We need the Lord more than ever. Absolutely, God is love.
Grace and peace, Mary Kay xoxo

All the goings on these days can sure make us feel a lot of fear and frustration. We must now be really informed just to protect ourselves. Good and thought provoking write.

Thank you so much for the review and comments. You are right. We need to check out everything we are told before we blindly buy into it in order to protect ourselves. There is too many oposing views, even among family members.

Thank you Dolly, I appreciate the review and comments. Even family members are deceived and divided by social media. Things that sound like truth could be dangerous if we fail to check the source and the validity.

The problem always escalates when truth is hid intentionally, and blame put on the questioners, the ones who when an experimental agent is forced upon the populace, say no. And then, these people who have the right to not be forced into having the shot, are publicly vilified as causing the virus to go unchecked. Now why is this? what are the vaccinated afraid of?
This is what is dividing this country - along with many other things, but this is non-stop, mind-numbing propaganda. What has happened to fair play, to our right to say what goes into our body. Who gave the government, or Fauci, for that matter, the right to mandate such a thing and to punish, PUNISH! anyone who doesn't fall in line. This is un American.
The reasons we have are not lies, nor "unfounded fables from unsavory lips." Check out America's Frontline Doctors.
This is not an attack on you, just my response to your poem - my interpretation of it.

Thank you Katherine. I appreciate the review and in depth comments. I wasn't thinking of anything in particular and my frustration stems mostly from division among family and close friends who blindly accept things seen on social media as fact without checking it out to find the source, and learn as much truth ias possible without passing it on to others. I didn't expect this poem to be too well recieved, because some are likely to see it as a personal attact on their own beliefs. I certianly don't mean it to be.

I apologize for misinterpreting. I am just so frustrated with what's going on, it wears me down to a nub.
