Your skillfully-written poem is full of vivid descriptions and gem-like pon- derings. There are so many mysteries we can't fully grasp. I feel that realizing that fact AND that God told us we wouldn't "get" everything IS a form of wisdom. :-)

Royowen - this was excellent. I will be the first to admit my knowledge of poetic form/structure is a little derivative, so I always love when a poet identifies the form they've used. This is my introduction to a "Heptastich", and I quite enjoyed the form. Your content is strong as well, and I appreciate that you've documented biblical verse in your comments below the verse as well. Very kind of existential piece - very cool entry. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Roy.
I don't seek out poetry very often these days (too much hard work - lol), but I really enjoyed this one.
What is important in life? At various times, it's different things. What we crave and understand as children may be meaningless later on. But the one constant is our search for the meaningful.
Great post. Thank you for the introspection and the insights.

A triple-heptastich? Wow! That is one difficult poem to write successfully and you wrote it masterfully. No rhyme words were forced and they all had meaning to your story. Great job!

I run out of superlatives for you! Wise! Eloquent? Thought-provoking? Superb rhyme and meter? Yes yes, yes and yes...
Of course it goes beyond that...
It's like dipping my fingers on Holy Water and making The Sign of the Cross...

The magic of life and how we perceive it is a very personal experience and some have a hard time with it and some have a full and fulfilling life, it is a matter of attitude as we all have to face adversity at some time in our life, much enjoyed Roy, well chosen words, love Dolly x

This is so beautifully written and where I haven't mastered the skills needed to develop a triple-heptastich, I recognise the poetic ability to do so. I thoroughly enjoyed this poem and thank you for sharing. PM

Thank you for this encouraging poem reflecting on the wonder of God's creation of us, and how He made it possible from His Word to enable us to "drink from wisdom's bowl." Lovely triple heptastitch.

Roy,
You did an exceptional job in the penning of this beautiful poem.
I am reminded of the gospel song "Have Thine Own Way, Lord."
Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Thou art the Potter, I am the clay.
Mold me and make me after Thy will,
While I am waiting, yielded and still.
Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Search me and try me, Master, today!
Whiter than snow, Lord, wash me just now,
As in Thy presence humbly I bow.
I totally agree, we are all precious in God's sight and we are unique.
Thanks for sharing a most enjoyable read.
Blessings...Portia
