I am glad it's all coming together, but we still aren't 100% positive that BrĂ¼cker is Tom Jolliffe son, but there is a strong chance that he is. I can't wait to see what will happen next. Is Jack still alive?

This is a bit of transition chapter. The war is over and now it is time to release BrĂ¼cker. Three years have passed and now Allen want to know about has happened with Jack Bache, who was an injured pristoner of war in Germany. I've been wondering about him too. I will interested in learning where this goes from here.

I like the way you've transitioned us quickly through the war and onto the end and repatriations. I have hope that the whereabouts of Jack will be determined, and that BrĂ¼cker will find himself united with his unknown family. I look forward to following that process. Well done.

I am all atwitter, wondering at the fate of Hans Brucker and Jack Bache. If Jack Bache survives his injuries and returns to Shropshire will he and Hans be able to peacefully coexist? Will Hans find acceptance among his newly found relatives? Will any of this generation Julia, Jack and or Hans find romance within the surrounding community? Questions I am hoping that you my distinguished author and friend, will provide at some point in the future.

As a WWII child, read this with interest. With my father in the US Navy Seabees from January, 1942 and gone for almost four years, we paid close attention to the war news, but most news covered the US actions, very little about British actions.
Looked up the Oberfeldwebel, a low rated non-commissioned Luftwafte officer. Also looked up the O.B.E., Order of The British Empire.
Liked the authority and expensive knowledge in your story. From my limited experience, the dialogue is of the semi--formal exchanges between British Officers.
Also read your extensive qualifications, with your discipline you write a very readable narrative!
Cheers, irish

I was born and brought up in a remote part of the country down South. I was taught in school that war is never good. It destroys the very base of humanity; and yet, countries go to war. I never understood why! I was never exposed to war and news related to the conflicts. So, it was a peaceful life. There were rousing speeches on radio which I never understood.. Ignorance was a bliss. As I grew up and went to college, the ravages and chilling stories of war began to haunt me. Mercifully, I was immersed in studies and didn't care much about wars. WWII had long ended. So, when I read your story, I am reminded of those days and the war movies I saw in my college days. Thanks for sharing!

The War with Germany is over! A happy time for all of us.
I remember all the neighbors cheering, rejoicing as soon as we were informed. Now to see if Jack survived, and what Robert BrĂ¼cker will do when he is released. Well done, Jim. Nancy:)

Hi Jim, this is an interesting continuation. Allen had almost forgot about the German but it is all flooding back. He now wants to find the son. It's great writing as always, and I'm looking forward to what's next. Have a look at the subtitle. Some strange letters have crept in. Ulla:)))
