Well, I'm tempted to lie and tell you Frankie and the Four Seasons were way before my time. But, I have such fond memories of those times and all the other groups during that era that, all I can say is: Thanks for sharing.

I didn't really have to look again at the footage, I just closed eyes and remember. I once was a young fan, though a teen.
I loved to croon with the man, and some of his songs leave a dent in heart for obvious reasons, usually beginning with Girls and then life.
Thank you.
Have a great week dear Sally.
My best.

I saw the film, I like the way, (if it's true) one can see our musical heroes plant moments in our hearts, and then they deposit "ear worms" that we can't stop from resenting over and over in our heads. Well done, Sally. Bless you, good choice. Blessings Roy

You have yet to write about an artist/song that I don't love--and that I didn't dance to when I was a kid! Yes, the Four Seasons as a group and Valli as a lead singer were awesome. You've done a great job on this piece.
Thnks for background info I was unaware of.

I absolute love your choice today. I too can relate more to the music in that era than things they play today. My son took me to see Jersey Boys when they were on stage in our town. It was absolutely awesome. Smiles, Carol

Wow Sally, you brought back some old memories here, although some of these songs were slightly before my time, I do remember most of them, a fine post, love Dolly x

Thanks for sharing, Sally! I know that song and I think I prefer the Frankie Valli version - vocally, anyway. Yes, I do remember Robert's post when he worked for a musical instrument store and met the band.

Great article, Sally! Yeah, these songs are true classics. I don't even remember the first time I heard "Can't Take My Eyes Off You," because I probably heard it while growing up, before I could even turn the dial on the radio. Yes, you could say that many of these songs were the backdrop of my youth, and that's true for many of us.
That's quite an interesting piece of trivia, that the group named themselves after the establishment that turned them down! What a faux pas, on their part. They obviously weren't talent scouts, because these guys were hugely talented!

He's twenty one years my senior bit at the time, I didn't care. I've always loved this group. I really appreciate the wonderful reviews and hearing your story. I'm so glad you enjoyed this one. Summer fun! Sending you my best and love and blessings always,

A lot of rock, pop and country icons were older than we were, but that never stopped us from loving their music. Yes, we had a rich cultural heritage, even as kids! God bless you, my friend. Love, Mary Kay xoxo
