This is a great chapter. It gives more insight to the mind of the Germans and I find it really interesting. I wonder if you have a word missing: "The rear gunner drew AND did ..."

Thank you for the six star revised and for picking out that bit of spar. It has been addressed.

You did a great job with the build up to the "battle." I liked the realistic portrait of von K. with both good traits and the deep flaw in believing in Nazism. I chuckled at B's attempt at cheering up von K with the inevitability of losing his arm.

Von Kühlenberg (von) as with other last names meaning "from" the preposition isn't capitalized as in "da Vinci."
Schweinehund! (Schweinhund)
ruhe (Sei ruhe; or Ruhe; or still sein)

So, he was startled by the sound (why "So" ? the previous part was about the track)
Brücker shot out his right hand, holding his own luger, (confused as to who the "his" refers to)

Many thanks for a great review. It seems I can still make errors even with so little of the German language quoted. Many congratulations buy the way on your ROM. It is overdue. I would give you a thumb this time but it would be wasted since you can't win two months running.

Good thing Bruckner reacted the way he did, or they'd both be dead. I'm curious about what his mother wrote that changed his mind completely about the Nazi cause. I'm sure a lot of soldiers simply had to follow order that they weren't happy with.

-only a style (isn't this type spelled stile?)

You are of course quite right about the stile. Thank you and that has been addressed. You are going to have to wait a little longer to find out what Mutti wrote in her letter I'm afraid, but thank you for a great review.

    Then, I'll wait. 8-)

I enjoyed this chapter. It seems that capture was necessary if the pilot is to get any help with his injury. The rear gunner it seem has lost faith in the German cause. I wonder about the deposition his mother had made that has caused his change of heart. I assume we'll learn more about that later.

The Tail Gunner likely saved their lives. The pilot acted foolishly and without regard to the saving of their life. No doubt Brucker, who is likely part Jewish, is not so patriotic as to die in the name of the Nazi cause, showed courage and wisdom in preventing the killing of a British soldier, a local lad, all for naught.

This chapter describes an interesting arrest of the German duo by the British Homeguard. Why do I find it interesting? Because the Germans are divided in their opinion as to fighting or surrendering, and it seems as though for the English it is their first encounter with the enemy. Fascinating stuff.

Thank you for noticing the importance of the idealistic conflict between the two German fliers.

Fighting a war is bloody including most soldiers who fought for our freedom. I like your story. I really did enjoy it. Excellent work! Good job. Thank you for sharing!

Once again this is a good post. You are doing a good job depicting the time during the War. I feel like I'm in that time period. That's a sign of good writing. Thank you for sharing.
