Oh wow - what a powerful and meaningful thing to do in honor of the slaves - lost lives that others had no right to take or control. This is an awesome tribute. Thank you for sharing! Smiles!

What a nice thing to do! It comes as a shock when we find so-called 'treasures' of bygone times and read something as gross as that. And they did some terrible things to those poor people. I like this story, Liz, it shows how far most people have come. :)) Sandra xx

Yes, it's funny how social attitudes were so different, but we weren't there, we don't know how we would think, I was incredibly naive socially when young, blindness is a very prominent human propensity, hindsight is perhaps the answer to forward thinking, but a good place to be. Well done Liz, blessings Roy

Hello Liz,
Thank you for sharing your historian friend's discovery and course of action / stand against racism and slavery.
Your title is perfect - I love it.
There's ways to go about standing up for what's right and Scott has definitely gone about it in a peaceful and admirable way.
I enjoyed reading this very much.
Best wishes as always, Debra :)

Thanks for sharing this. Good for him, paying tribute to, and honouring those who were treated as lesser human beings, or worse. Hope that everyone who sees his museum and historical house will do likewise. Thought-provoking piece. Well written.

What a revelation. I just watched Henry Louis Gates telling Pharrell Williams about the suffering slaves of his ancestors. This information is so hard to deal with. It's important to know but how do we heal? Thanks to Scott for digging into the past and taking a stance for the future.

So racist: "Underneath which will be engraved: A nameless "negro man" and "mulatto girl" ...
... and numerous such others." Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.
