This is very romantic and nostalgic poem about yourself. Strong memories. It flows well, and is enjoyable to read. I wish you every success in the contest.

Very interesting to me. I can see how you would find fascination. I am among many who never thought of Chile as an advanced place - until life and work took me there often. It is among the 4 countries of the world I would like to live in some if I won the lottery and could afford it.

Thank you for your great lines to the place where I was born; a couple of decades ago. Contact me later on, may I am incognito...

Oh, I love to talk Chile! One evening, in a bar in Antofagasta, I was talking to a Chilean gentleman about my first trip across the Atacama. I told him it was like watching the old moon landings on TV - it looked just like the moon's surface. He told me that was not surprising because NaSA tested the moon rover in the Atacama near Calama. I knew it! We never landed on the moon! They just filmed it in Chile!
One more: I sold industrial plastic used in mining. One night in my favorite Mexican restaurant in Texas, I told my friend the owner and his guys that the next day I was leaving for Chile. They said, "Do you really do business in Chile?" I replied, "Of course, much business. Why do you doubt it?" He said, "Because your Spanish is very bad." I replied, "Yo se los quatro palabras mas importante por el vendadore." He, "Que este?"
'LA QUINTA POR FAVOR". Hasta mas tarde. Buena suarte! (I was known as "El Gringo Viejo" y "bandito", but that is another story...

After reading the notes, your beautiful poem came to life. It was written flawlessly with lovely "language" that was descriptive and poetic. Wonderful poem!!!

A beautifully written poem, there are very few who can turn a phrase well, although many will try, and occasionally succeed, but passion is written in the heart ofbthe poet. This is beautifully written, I appreciate who has evoked this great work, well done, blessings Roy

Very good. Your work grasps the feelings of unrequited love, the ending is haunting, "still image of what it was not". Technically sound, good story line, solid ending. Great job, good luck in the contest.

As someone, (Writers mostly), who observes people and are often inspired by what we see. What we see when we observe people and things is often transferred to paper in poetic form. This poem is a prime example of same.

Right on. Very romantic stylings you sketched here. Softly. The tone of this, the descriptions of memories, longing, mood, background, had that feeling Pablo. I had forgotten all about him. This was refreshing.

This poem uses metaphors and imagery well. It seems to describe a memory of a girl you wished to be in love with you
Good luck in the contest.

I know of Pablo Neruda and some of his soul-reaching, very celebrated poetry...though not as much as you know.
This is a wonderul tribute to him, and in writing it the way you have, also a wonderful tribute to you.
The photo is amazing.
My favorite line in your poem is:
A gray beret fenced a curl of your hair but not your soul.
Really nice job and thank you for making me think of him again.
