A very well-written 5-7-5 poem in addition to the multi-author Renga book about doves in the garden that brings a sense of peace and tranquility when they settle down in our garden.

The dove represents the Holy Spirit that alighted on Jesus as he was baptised by John. I believe we see peace when we see the doves, no matter the colour. They are so gentle and yes, tranquility reigns. Well done friend.

Hello, my friend,

Thank you very much for your addition to our renga book. Beautiful 5/7/5 with good syllable count and connection between lines.

following the rules of Renga poetry, a 5/7/5 is followed by a 7/7 couplet and the topic should relate to each other without repeating words.

You are following Roy's (royowen )5/7/5 poem,
Chapter seventy by royowen

Lion and the Lamb
They will rise at future's morn,
Erase jester's pawn.

Your turn is supposed to be a 7/7 can be something like this....

God's messenger flies
through dark (7)

valleys-- tranquility reigns (7) or anything else you would like but it must be a couplet 7/7.

Please add the author notes to your author notes for other people to follow....
---------------------------------
Author notes:
Renga is a Japanese collaborative poetry form in which poets write alternating verses of 5-7-5 stanzas and 7-7 couplets which are linked in succession by multiple poets. Only the first 5/7/5 is a haiku; the rest 5/7/5 stanzas are only restricted to syllable count. Renga is older than haiku.

Please, if you would like to add a chapter to this book of renga, read these instructions then copy and paste to your author notes. If you need help, please do not hesitate to contact Gypsy Blue Rose.

Steps to Post a Chapter:

click on the ADD CHAPTER icon, located above the review box.

If the last poem is a 5/7/5 stanza, write a 7/7 couplet, if the last poem is a 7/7 couplet write a 5/7/5 stanza. Write about the SAME THEME of the previous chapter but please don't REPEAT words.

Post your poem as usual but it will be part of the book. A copy will go to your portfolio and you keep your reviews.

(If you would like to read the previous chapters, copy and paste this link to your browser).

---------------------------------
And one last thing, could you please change the Chapter number to 72? You go to the box where it says 71 and type 72. I don't know what happened. It's supposed to change automatically but sometimes we have glitches.

I'm sorry for all the trouble with the rules but that's how it goes with renga poetry.

Please let me know if you need help.

Hugs,

Gypsy

Thanks so much. I wasn't sure if I was suppose to create a 5-75 or a 7/7 couplet. I will try to change my poem. Elaine

Looks good :) I hope you'll add more chapters in the future. Remember to add my author notes and follow the theme of last poem. A 5/7/5 is followed by a 7/7 poem.

What a sweet looking dove in the picture. We need something to remind us of peace. I like your description of them as flying through valleys of turmoil. They are a sign that tranquility reigns. Beautifully presented. It will be a great addition to the book. judi

-Nice image and
presentation, Elaine.
-We usually have a
pair of doves each year.
-You wrote a very good
poem about it with
effective imagery.
-The concluding line
shows the true spirit
of this peaceful bird.
-Very well done.

A very nicely written piece. A dove is good symbolism
for peace and tranquility. I love this photo works really well with your poem. I like the ending Tranquility reigns. The dove instilled peace.
