Great insight to the world of poetry, Mary. We don't need a passport, there's a wonderful world awaiting us through those gates. A poem is crafted through the poet's experience, then it brings a whole new experience to the reader.

I like this abcb quatrain than defines and peom and its poet metaphorically. It also describes the effect of a well written

Such a delightful poem! It so naturally and poetically describes poetry using the "narrow gates" which may refer to the structure of poetry and once we are through those gates the possibilities are endless.
