You created a wonderful juxtaposition of a more rigid and cold world (even the sound of the words chosen) and a softer soothing one - capturing both the dangerous nature of winter and calming effects of snow.
Lovely addition!

What a great way of getting other authors involved in a book of poetry. Gypsy Rose is also a great poet who does review my poems from time to time. Like your deep freeze. But I'm so glad its summer when I look at your image.

Thank you very much for adding a chapter to our renga book. Great imagery with well chosen words. Beautiful presentation. Goog ranga form. You pivoted from Autumn to winter.. nicely done.

Thank you for joining the book, Dolly! I love the switch into full winter in your poem with the ice that grips and the resulting peaceful silence. Liked the alliteration and consonance of 's' sounds.

-Nice artwork and
presentation, Dolly.
-A good follow up to
the previous poem.
-It is interesting how the
progression of poems is
going by season.
-I like the imagery and
verb choices to show how the
freezing "grips" the earth,
then is calmed with silence.
-A very good addition to the book.

Excellent continuance. I was thinking of adding to the book after the most recent three liner, but you beat me to it! So now I'll think of adding after this one!
Superb phrasing phonics with all the S and soft C sounds!
I love the subtle personification here, and the fine voicing. I also love the dramatic first line resolving into calm silence in the second....
That's my cue!
Love,

It is almost as if there has been a Mandate to stop all action. No more growth. Almost like lockdowns. Sleep and rest for the next episode. Yes, it is very quiet in the Winter when the freeze comes. Nice art.

Good Morning, Dolly,
Lovely couplet! And not only does it follow/tag onto June's Haiku beautifully, but you have captured the essence of winter where this reader resides. While I often tire of the cold, I never tire of winter's "calm, with peaceful silence."
Thank you for sharing!

So happy to see you join the fun! This was a fitting couplet leading us into winter. I am thoroughly enjoying this book of Renga. And can't wait to see how it evolves.
