Yikes!! That poor dog! :) ;) Hooray for the Porcupine -- have always had a 'soft spot' for these guys (yeah, no pun intended - lol!) cuz they're just so darn unique, ya know? :) Thanx so much for sharing them, my lady!! ;) :) Yvette

You should look on Google images, there are some dogs that come away with their whole face, eyes and mouths, covered completely in them. Why they keep trying to get into the porcupine, I don't know. Some dogs can be pretty silly at times, just think how painful that must be. Thank you, Yvette, for your lovely review and your kind thoughts on this one. Have you finished with your down-sizing yet? :)) Sandra xx

Aww... what sweet looking balls of ouch. They really are an interesting animal, aren't they? Nature really gave them a one up on their much larger enemies. I think I'd rather step on a pile of legos than get porcupine quills in me.

LOL, yes, I dare you to touch one! I'll keep the countries between me and them, and an ocean or two! Thank you for coming and reading about the porcupine, I'm glad you found them interesting. Letter Q coming next. Big hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

I didn't know they lived in trees. You did a good job with this poem, nice and bouncy.
Oh, wow, I just read your notes. So much information about the Porcupine that I never knew. I can't wait to read about the skunk. I'm sure I'll gain more insight into that creature as well. Good work. Hugs, Lou

Not many people did know that the porcupine lived in trees, but it's only the new world porcupines who do. They are really interesting, more than I thought they'd be. Thank you so much for the 6 delicious stars, Lou, and your wonderful review. Q is next! Have a lovely week my friend. :)) Sandra xx

Each chapter is such a wealth of information, and I really like your style. It has a light breezy feeling that makes it a fun. I understand it's meant for children, but I'm finding chapters a very enjoyable read. I didn't know north American porcupines lived in trees or that they ate wood. I haven't seen one in this area for quite awhile. The one of the few animals that are moving into town. Good stuff there, Sandra.

Guess what? I've been doing some detective work and discovered your name is Steve! No, sorry, I can't give away my sources! LOL. (I only send my detectives out when the victim is someone I like!!)
Thank you so much for another wonderful review, my friend, you are always so kind to me. I'm just so pleased you enjoy my work. Have a lovely evening! :)) Sandra xx

You and Mel must be mates. I really like these chapters, and I have been debating making copies to send to me grandkids, they are 5 and 2, but I think they would having mum or dad read them to them.
-
Oh, does Mel know your name?? LOL. If you want to make copies please do, and let me know how they went down. I'd be really interested in knowing. I'll be going to my grandson's school in September to read them to the children there. It's something I love doing, and the head teacher is great and so encouraging. :)) xxx

That's really cool. I'll let you know how it goes with the grandkids.

I wish my writing was as flawless as yours. Another great piece. I found nothing that I would change or suggest for improvement. I hope the sixes are not getting boring, but I can't see anything less for a rating.
Thanks for another enjoyable read.

LOL, the sixes getting boring! You are so kind, my friend, and, no, definitely not! Thank you so much for another of your really lovely reviews, you brighten my day every time. Thank you, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

My pleasure. In the midst of this pandemic and the rampant idiocy, your chapters bring a smile to my face and definitely brighten my day. Thanks

Another super post, Sandra. I say post, not poem, because I can't wait to finish each poem as quickly as possible so I can absorb all the fascinating facts that follow. Who would mess with a porcupine? It would seem they are one of the safest species on the planet!

I loved reading about these critters. Thank goodness their quills are soft when they are born!! Your research is extensive and well handled into prose for all ages. I see that Q will be next. I'm interested to see what animal you will choose. In Australia there is a quokka and a quoll.

Thank you, Lisa, that is so nice of you. Yes, I doubt there would be any porcupines if their quills weren't soft during the birth! Lol. I'm so pleased you are still enjoying my series of animals. Have a lovely day, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

Oh, Sandra, my Gabi is going to love this when I read it to her in the morning! :)
My only suggestion is to put all of the New World porcupines together. You have the prehensile porcupines (New World) after the Old World clan. :) Just a grouping issue.
Great read! Thank yu so much. :)
Be blessed! Loving this.

Hi Debs, thank you for that suggestion, why didn't I think of that??? lol. I've put the New World porcupines together now. I think all this research in doing my brain in! Thank you for your lovely review, and please, will you let me know if Gabi enjoys it?
Have a lovely day, my friend. Sandra xxx

Aww, thank you, Liz, what a lovely review. That dog was the least hurt one I could find. There were some that you can't see a trace of the dogs face through the quills, including their eyes and in their mouths. They must have been in terrible pain. It's the hunting dogs that get them mostly, wild animals know how to keep a wide berth!
Thank you again, and a big hug for those shiny stars, my friend. I really appreciate them and your kind review. Have a wonderful day! :)) Sandra xx

This is certainly going to be a fabulous book. The poem is good and the information is amazing. I had no idea they climbed and lived in trees. That is something to worry about when in the woods. The quills are ominous and could leave one with serious infections. This is a splendid
presentation and truly a stellar portion of your upcoming book.
