This is very well written and leaves your readers (at least me) unsure just what really happened, or didn't. I like it, because it's different, but I will have to ponder it some more. Addendum: I just read this again, and I understand it completely this time. Well done.

Hi Liz.

That's a well written, creative story. Len is a very unhappy guy that has a plan to make himself happy. Then there is that catch of the unintended consequences.

Robert

I like the dark thoughts going on in the mind of the murderer, and probably they have a good motive, in their mind, that it's perfectly justifiable...of course. I must admit, I couldn't actually kill, although when young, I did conceive some great conclusions to bullying sorts. Well done Liz, an excellent plot, and great descriptive imagery of a dying man. Blessings, Roy

Hello again! It was disturbing to find that I'd conjured such an evil character who so coldly committed this monstrous act. Fortunately, I was able to conjure a pair of cops to catch him. Cheers. LIZ

Sometimes we are in this position when we wish the death of the main character that sits between us and the prixe: "The understudy. That's me, poor ol' Lenny-never-gets-a-chance. Consigned, for sixteen months, to a bit part. One line, six words: "Do you have anything to say?" After which I string the bastard up." Thank you for sharing and have a wonderful day.

Well done. A monologue should start with the situation at hand. We can empathize with the speaker as jealousy is familiar to all of us. Explanation of opportunity. Realization by the victim. Ironic ending as he won't get a chance to play the lead.

This becomes all the more sinister told from the murderer's viewpoint. The narrative is just seething with animosity, you really created a monster, a jealous monster in this understudy who never gets a chance, watching the star get all the accolades from backstage. There's this powerful moment when he jerks the safety belt tight, and hauls up his victim and watches him writhing to death, the oblivious audience out in the theatre. estory

Yikes! I didn't know you did "horror" - maybe that's why I didn't review this back in June. You did great character study in this script. I don't think he got what he wanted - I don't know what theatre they have in prisons.

Oh Len, what a lovable psycho! Ha. I do not read a lot of scripts, but I came to your portfolio looking for something I read a few days ago, and this one popped up first. It's fascinating and scary!

Thanks again for your interest in my work! What was the one you read a few days ago? The ones most recently promoted (just expired) are THE WHITE STUFF, SPOUTINGS, and TAKING A STAND?--currently up for $$ are ROOKIE MISTAKE and MAKING MERRY

HOLY SMOKES .OH MY GOSH , Wow what a story .How awful that someone could be so cold and EVIL !! Some times people are so selfish and self centered that they no longer have a care in the world other than themselves ! I Pray for Any one who has that disease !
