A very well-written poem in remembrance of ANZAC day that will be different from the way we always celebrate this day, but we still remember and pray for guidance through our struggles.

Thank you for helping us remember, Christine! You always do a tribute for ANZAC Day. I'm sorry you can have the normal celebration but your poem resonates with us internationally. I'm thankful for the Australian and New Zealand soldiers who helped keep South Korea free!

Christine, I sat in my wheelchair along with my neighbors standing in their driveways. This is a wonderful poem that resonates with Aussies. Watched the service on the TV. Where there's a will, there's a way. Our most sacred day was not halted by Covid19. Well done friend.

Hi Aussie. Thank you my dear for sharing our ANZAC with me also and for your six stars So pleased you thought it worthy. We did stand in our driveway with neighbours to acknowledge this day and we all had an ANZAC biscuit after the service. A really moving dawn service on the radio .
No Covid19 will not stop this day only make it different.
Stay safe and well Aussie Cheers Chris

I learned something new today, ANZAC! I got immediately when I read Flanders Fields because I have loved the poem "In Flanders Fields by Canadian physician Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae. A wonderful tribute with rhyme and a spectacular picture. giovanni

So many dates to remember. Historical help that brought us safely as far as today, and now just help that we need against a new foe, unbeatable for the moment until we find some levage to tackle it. I like this poem very much. It is uplifting to be reminded that in the midst of COVID we should not forget past help freely given.

Hi Katherine Thank you for your review and yes we do have another foe in this virus So I was asling the Spirits of our ANZACs to help us again and give us some help to overcome this scurge. I always writecan ANZAC poem and it is my little way of remembering all who lose their lives in wars. Hopefully no more There is so much more to Humanity than war.

This is very touching and compelling. I am an American citizen, have always been; and it's too bad we haven't been taught more about our neighbors down under, and how they, too, were our allies in war.
This isn't the first time I've heard of ANZAC Day, but I first learned of it on FanStory. I am proud of my Australian friends and their heroes, and I love what you do to honor those fallen, some 100 years ago. Their actions then, matter today.
One tiny spag:
Last post; in driveway's we will stand together.
-->
Last post; in driveways we will stand together.
(driveways here is plural, but not possessive)
Wishing you a meaningful ANZAC Day. You are right, that your fight against Covid-19 has only just begun, but I hope that in your nation, you won't see death in the huge numbers we've known it here in the U.S. I hope all of your people continue to take it seriously, and don't go out protesting, complaining and flouting the restrictions, as some have done in our country. Some have disobeyed the directives and gotten sick. You are very much to be admired, for taking precautions before having to learn the hard way. May God keep you all safe.

Hi Mary Kay Thank you so very much for your lovely review and assistance with my punctuation, have corrected this so I do appreciate your advice. we did go out onto our driveway at dawn and observe this service on the radio .Some neighbours stood with us ( at correct social distance ) and we shared this together.
Yes Australia although have cases do not have anywhere the sad numbers we see in America, UK and other countries and we arecall trying to docthe right thing here. Our Govt has been really good and keeping us all informed every day the Prime Minister does an address to the nation to keep us updated. In my home town area we have notchad any new cases for 3 weeks but we are all still aware of the risks of socialising to early
So it will be what it will be and we all need to look after each other
So stay safe and well and lets hope we can beat this scurge
Cheers Christine

Man alive how time flies. It seems like just a year ago it was ANZAC Day. ;-)
This is a fine tribute to Australia's remembrance who fought in the first world war. It is a pity public celebrations won't go ahead this year, but one positive note is reading fine poems like yours, Chris.
Beautiful presentation and poem. :)

This is a beautifully written poem and certainly even more important with what we are going through these very trying days. In Canada we are hard hit with corona virus in many areas. Very troubling. I think it is very special that you celebrate ANZAC Day. Your poem reads very smoothly and rhyming is great. I love the set up you have chosen - so very fitting. Blessings, Carol

Hi Carol Thanks so much for your lovely review and yes we now have an unseen enemy among us so every source of strength is required and our ANZAC spirit is always very strong especially today. We are pretty lucky so far in Australia around 7000 cases but only around 70 deaths ( one is too many but hopefully no more Most people here have been good with social distance even as many are out walking which is good
We did stamd in our driveway at Dawn A very moving service
Saty Safe Cheers Christine

I can truly see the PRIDE you Australians and New Zealanders have in the ANZAC heroes who died for you. I can see how and why you would derive courage and strength from them as you face today's pandemic onslaught. Particularly poignant to me is stanza three. Rod

Hi Rod How lovely to have your review for my ANZAC poem and yes I hope we can derive the ANZAC courage in our latest fight. We did stand in the driveway at dawn with a couple of neighbours (at social distance) so it was nice to have their company to observe this day
Cheers Christine
