A very well-written Haiku. We as humans have to start realizing we are only visitors here on earth, and we should treat the earth as we would like our visitors to behave in our home.

Amen! The horrors being allowed in Brazil right now are crimes against all of humanity. How could those governing there have no thought of the risk they are taking with the survival of our entire planet! Sooner or later someone is going to have to stop the carnage! :(. Great haiku entry!

what your saying in this poem is so very true. We need to save the trees, water and nature. When I do a road trip, and we come upon a area where they have had a fire, its devastating. Good writing.

"Mankind greedily recedes" when the source of life, our trees, are uprooted and transformed in shadows. Soon we will remember them only from pictures. Thank you for sharing and creating awareness.

Absolutely agree with you author, let's save the trees and stop destroying nature, because we take down other critters with us who have absolutely no say over the matter.
