I couldn't do this with a gun held to my head. You really are a rocket scientist and built a poetry car out of words, green no less. This is adorable.
Sending you my best today as well,

LOL -- of course you could, Lady Sal! ;) ;) Although, I will warn you, it took patience that I DO NOT have on a regular basis - LOL! ;) ;) So glad you enjoyed my reminiscing about my Lil' Dude -- he and I went through a lot of growing up together!! ;) ;) Take care and have a great weekend! ;) Yvette

What a color! I would've named it Froggy. Must have been nice having a car to take you and friends here and there. I didn't get one till I started working, after college.

LOL -- yeah, I can see how Froggy would have worked! ;) ;) Was a neighbor's 'gift' (I only paid a few hundred) because I had helped him around his farm starting around 9/10... living in the country has its perks, I guess! ;) ;) Take care and have a great weekend! ;) Yvette

You did a great job with your shape poem, YM. It isn't as easy to complete one as many believe. Yours is a great example. I like the rhymes, the attention to detail, the color scheme, and the fond memories shared. Thanks for sharing. Jan

Oh, you're right about that, Jan-- this is definitely not something I have the patience to 'tackle' on a regular basis - LOL! ;) ;) Thanx for your review on my reminiscing about my Lil' Dude, ma'am -- always good to hear from you!! ;) ;) Take care and have a great weekend! ;) Yvette

Very cute indeed - the car image comes through - and this sure brings back memories of the days I drove my folks' 56 Chevy I think it was - draggin' main - going 85 on the road (no seat belts) driving to see my boyfriend 45 miles away. oi vey - God did send his angels to protect us - but our roads were so empty back then. Now...forget it.

Oh, you are so right about the protection, Gail -- we were so very blessed to make it through with all the craziness we got into!! ;) ;) So very glad you enjoyed my reminiscing about my Lil' Dude, ma'am -- he and I went through a lot of growing up together!! ;) ;) Take care and have a great weekend! ;) Yvette

I love it, Yvette! Very skilfully done... you have raised the bar indeed with the car's irregular shape much more difficult to achieve than my mere circle. And the poem is terrific too, capturing those early motoring years very well. Car colours were so much prettier back then... everything seems to be either white, silver or black here these days.

Hooray - so glad you approve, ma'am! ;) ;) It was definitely a challenge and, as I said in the author notes, I'm leaving them to you from now on as I'm pretty sure I do not have the patience for these on a regular basis!! :P ;P lol! :) And I'm really glad you enjoyed my reminiscing about my Lil' Dude -- he and I went through a lot of growing up together!! ;) ;) Take care and have a great weekend, L-M! ;) Yvette

Yvette,
That is so funny. I was lying in bed last night thinking of concrete poems. We must all be on the same wave length! (Great minds!) Although, I'm not sure anything of mine could match this. Super job - not just with the positioning and creation of the text layout, but the poem itself. Wish I had a six for you. Thanks!

This was amazing Yvette, I had honestly never read a 'shape' poem and I think it is quite unique. You shared endearing memories of your adventures with Lil' Dude. I know it may sound weird but all of my vehicles had names just like ships and boats do. They become part of our lives, so now I have B.A.R.T (big ass red truck) a red semi with yellow flames, and Itzy- a little smart car- I know from one extreme to the other lol. Great job and very much enjoyed.

Well, I would expect nothing less from a couple that travels as much as the two of you do, ma'am! ;) And BART is AWESOME -- best name ever!! ;) ;) I probably would be more at home in BART than Itzy... I'm definitely more of a truck-gal (my 'mom' vehicle is currently an Expedition-EL with brush guards)! ;) ;) I'm so very glad you enjoyed my reminiscing about my Lil' Dude -- he and I went through a lot of growing up together!! ;) ;) Take care, Ali, and have a great weekend! ;) Yvette

Now why did I picture you as a truck-gal. You as well have a great weekend.

"Yer auta give er a six, for ingenuity." Is there anything you cannot do? This is a very cute, time frozen, artistic poem. I remember some of these cars. I enjoyed this penning, and glad you met the challenge from Lisa! Thanks for sharing,
Hugs,Trisha

I was scrolling through as I try to randomly review about 5 or 6 a day! This poem is simply fabulous, from the photo, to the formatting of the words to the fantastic words you've written. I was just "down" this morning and the previous things I looked at were sad or very odd, to say the least and your poem just was a totally uplifting joy to read! I only wish I had a 6 to put on it. Sorry, I am out! Very creatively done. A work of art! Thank you for cheering me up!

This is too cute, Yvette! Ah, the memories those first cars bring back to us - that first rite of passage into adulthood is never forgotten. Well done and thank you very much for sharing it.
