Hello Poet, what a great little affirmation about having chutzpah and going for what one wants in life. Fitting photo for Kentucky Derby day as well. Best in the contest.

Kind of an ironic statement, given the Derby's results. Oy.
Thanks for your well-wishes! xo

An inspiring write. You will never succeed without putting the effort in, as it is the main factor in everything and anything. Best of luck in the contest!

In my opinion, so very true and appropriate in all things - a declaration so aptly written in succinct yet profound rendering - in perfect compliance with the prompt, given the extreme difficulty to accomplish so much in such few words, but you succeeded - congratulations, and good luck in the contest...

I think your words ring true in most circumstances. Yet, there's always a few lucky ones who have natural abilities and don't have to put a lot of effort into whatever it is they're trying to achieve. Hugs, Lou

This is so true, Lou. They are few and far between, though. xo

As a former horse-back rider this one really appealed to me. I've watched many friends go through the incredible effort of work required for competitive sports or entrepreneurial ventures - some with crazy success , some with near misses. Effort is most of it. Loved the six word story - it really is a story. You seem to be good at every form.

Think of the amazing effort put forth by both horse - and jockey - to win. it's a tremendous strain. Guess in our lives there is no success without a lot of effort. Your poem points this out well.

Hi Rachelle, I completely agree...and this is a six star effort, except I'm out of sixes.
I'm sure your entry will do well in the contest! My best wishes to you.

-Very nice image and
presentation, Rachelle.
-It is appropriate for
the Kentucky Derby!
-You have used your
six words well with
a good topic and message.
-Unless you are extremely
gifted or lucky, effort
usually pays off.
-Hope yours does in the contest!

This is so true, is my first thought after reading this. Much, much effort is needed to gain glory. Your little poem carries a big thought, so it is a good entry for the contest. I like that the picture is mid-action, showing the reader that the rider is using effort to gain glory.
I really enjoyed this:)
