It is tough when that 'baby' is sick and that 'night-night' doesn't work, but your verse speaks of possibly more happier moments.
If only 'one more kiss' could resolve all our problems. LOL
good luck in your entry

This is a charming 5-7-5 poem. Those of us who have put children and grandchildren to bed can relate to the sentiment. You have also chosen the perfect picture to go with this. Well done

Where have you been in my life? This is so sweet and precious. I remember those wonderful days long past. Now, it's my grandkids that wake me up in the night when they come for a visit. Sleep loss is soon forgotten and gives way to the best days you will ever know. A fine entry and contender for the Midnight 5-7-5 contest. Spot on syllable count!
All my best,
Sally :+)

This is lovely. I used to get up in the middle of the night even when my babies were asleep, just to watch them breathe. I understand what you mean. Best of luck in the contest.

Nice job! I feel like I should send this poem to my brother. He has a new baby daughter and is probably up after midnight with her quite often. :) This is a sweet poem that brought back memories of late nights with my son when he was a baby. Although it's hard losing sleep, those are very precious times. I think you've captured that well in your poem. The syllable count is perfect and I like how you've incorporated a little rhyme into the piece as well. Best of luck to you in the contest! :)
