Hello, loved the ending of this poem, it's a bit of a surprise. I think this free verse is a very good entry for the competition. Some great observations through the interchange with the grey squirrel. I always thought they were red, lol. We don't have them, we have possums, that are quite nasty with claws.

i have no suggestions for improving this poem, I liked it just as it is and thank you for sharing your writing, Ana.

OMG! They are red everywhere else I've been. They're GREY here as are the birds, the ground, the sky and ME TOO! LOL
