What a thoughtful way to pen this great piece to inform your friends of your upcoming surgery. You capture ever aspect of what one goes through during the run up to such an event.
I wish you well and a speedy recovery.
When you get back to writing, no matter how slow it may be, it will be a masterful effort.
I will check on you in a couple of days..
Take it easy and don't try anything strenuous.

You posted on the 14th so I'm assuming you had it today. I hope it's a fast recovery. Remember the first couple days are the worse so if it hurts like no one's business today give it it some time.

Ouch! This sounds extremely painful whichever one you are having. However I am sure that in the lopng run it will be a lot easier to live with than the one that is currently not doing its job properly. Paddy senbds his love. He changed his routine last night and spent the night on my bed then disappeared for a morning's adventure!

First of all, good luck with the surgery - I'm guessing the recovery time will be long - here's hoping that it's not too painful and that the down time will be filled with good books to read and lots of care from friends and family.
The poem is great. I'd not heard of the allouette form before. It has a great rhythm to it - I can see how it would pair well with a children's poem. I love how the rhyme scheme aligns with the line length.

I used to be a surgical nurse , it looks scarier than it really is. You are in my prayers and will do just fine. This is very well done and thank you for the notes to help .
