This gave me a big smile Bill, what an original offering and that last line was just great.
Loving this new character and what a cracking picture to accompany your words.

Great fun reading this poem. Your play on words created a wonderful read. The animals playing poker looks like it was made for your poem. Even the background and font made for a special presentation. Great job.

LOL, I wouldn't sit in with a skunk, especially if he lost! I love how it was the four aces that caused the stink! This was a fun poem and the picture is perfect for it. Well done, :) Sandra x

This is hilarious. I used to play poker on a weekly basis with a group of friends. One was new to the game. We wrote out a list of what beat what and gave it to him. After one hand was dealt, he consulted his list. His face lit up and he asked if there was a limit on how much he could raise. Everyone else immediately dropped out. He could have won a big hand. Instead, he won the ante.

I apparently have the most readable face in poker.

Hahaha. He did have the advantage. Is that cheating? lol
Looking forward to more of these. They're very entertaining and funny.

ha ha ha, Bill Schott!
Skunked: to defeat overwhelmingly, to prevent a score, even to cheat?
And the ending leaves you thinking, "he didn't just outplay the four, he must've cheated them to do it." Wondering who had the fifth Ace...
Really fun, humorous little poem...and the picture ain't bad either!

Funny poem, especially with the picture. I enjoyed it, but wondered about the lack of punctuation. Maybe period after folded and stink. Also, capitalize he.
good humor!

Thanks, F, for the excellent review. I think you'll find that most smaller poems have little or no punctuation. Exclamation points and question marks are obvious exceptions.

Nicely written poem. I love poker and actually used to play (just recreational). I played in a lot of tournaments so I know a poker face is what you need to win. Thank you for sharing, N.B.
