Ha ha, so cute, good for the sloth!! Gives me hope!! I believe this to be a true morale too though, sometimes the fastest don't win. Blessings...

This is a very cute version of the tortoise and the hare, and of course the sloth. You used very good descriptive wording and made this an enjoyable story in a poem to read and review. Best wishes in the contest! Teri

Very good. You should do well in the contest. It reminds me of the snail that got mugged by the turtle. He said, "I don't know, officer. It all happened so fast."

Many reviewers have said they love sloths. Maybe they think it's something else.

Bill, you are fast becoming my all-time favorite humorist. Why you don't gather up your best pieces and put them in a book is a wonder to me. I think if you led with a poem like the one here--which is brilliant!--as a sample to send off to an agent or editor, their ears will perk up! I'm not blowing smoke! I mean it.

I wish I could give you more than a six for this piece of genius!

Thank you, Jay, for the marvelous review, which is a sensational confidence builder. I hope to put some things together this summer, PEOPLE POEMS, SCENES WITH PONS AND NED, WORLDS (HORSE,SPIDER, OCTOPUS, SLOTH, etc.) and numerous short stories.

Such a great story told within a poem. It has a moral and everything! I liked the variation of the turtle and the hare story. Putting the sloth in gave it more depth and illustrated that there is something that moves slower than the tortoise.

Well done,

~patty~

I just loved this poem! Not only because I'm obsessed with sloths, but also because it is a really well written poem and it's funny. Great job, and best of luck in the contest! :)

Such a cute take on the tortoise and the hare story. Great meter and rhyme.

The sloth took the day. Poor tortoise got in the soup.
