This photo, so sad realizing it was taken at a military funeral. So many families suffering with loss this Christmas, and the loss of family members will follow them every Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday for the rest of their days. Excellent advice in a very visual and heartbreaking presentation. Your tapering of words almost seem to mimic the casket being lowered and out of sight.

Your poem is a stark reminder that time moves faster than our best intentions. With Thanksgiving approaching and families gathering, it's very timely.

This is a great presentation--the art/image is perfect, the syllable count is correct, the color scheme adds to the poignancy, & the message is awesome. Good job on all.
Congratulations on your win. Well deserved. Jan

I haven't read your work for a while--just over-scheduled. I am glad I did not miss this post. I enjoy the Nonet form and you used the vehicle well for your theme. Congratulations on your well-deserved win. Thank you for the reminder to not take our loved ones for granted, and happy holidays to you as well. Smiles- Joan

It's true, it's the one destiny we are all going to face, no exception. This time of the year is the worst time to lose a loved one, I love my husband, my dad and two dear friends in December, my mum in January. And although they all knew I loved them, I still regret not saying more. Your poem is definitely one that people should read and act upon. Excellent, good luck in the contest! xsx Sandra

Thank you so much Sandra for you wonderful review, I appreciate it. I have experienced loss of close loved ones over the years and later wished that I had said how I truly felt about them before they left this world. I regret that.
Enjoy your Sunday and Happy Thanksgivings. Oh, the poem won the contest. Take care...Bill

Congratulations on winning this contest. A well deserved award. This meets all the requirements of the nonet despite its somewhat gloomy outlook. Do not take loved ones for granted. They may not have long to be with us.
