This is such a lovely poem. I am so glad that you found something that you love to do. A good choice because you are very good with putting words together. A good rhyme and flow. Keep up the wonderful work.

Thank you for sharing how you started painting watercolors and adding another lovely example to this post. I admired your storytelling and rhymed couplets. Here's to your life continuing to be fulfilled and best wishes in the contest- Joan

A very well-written story/poem. When in pain it is very good to keep the mind busy with something else. The pain will subside and the end product of your painting is proof that you discovered another talent. An excellent piece of artwork.

I'm sorry to hear you were in pain. Are you okay now?
The poem is beautiful and so is the painting. It's a pity is a bit blurred. The same thing happens to me when I upload pictures to FanStory, I wonder why.
Thanks for sharing, Mary.

I live with my pain I since had a hip replacement, a neck fusion I am the bionic woman but I have to say I am grateful for to be here and enjoying my life. Thanks for asking and reviewing. Yes the pictures do get blurred I think fanstory enlarges them and that why. Mary

Very well done, a good rythm and flow to it.
The colors give it its own flare.
Wasn't sure what to expect, but it was a pleasure to read:)

Seems the spinal fusion
fused more than a spine;
By bringing from pain and confusion
the writer, the painter two of a kind.
Or something like that.
This poem is worked carefully, creatively to bring the reader from the beginnings of the writer's physical suffering and hope deferred to a conclusion that if he couldn't use his body, he'd use his mind. By bringing art into his impoverished world ...his whole life unfurled.
I enjoyed the easy carefully crafted sense of rhyme and rhythm. I particularly liked the line, "my overactive mind was always a pest".
Think all writers must feel that way.
How blessed to be an artist of the pen and of the brush both!

I'm sorry Mary to hear of your suffering, and I will pray for you. And excellent sorry in a poem. You're obviously not sitting on your hypothetical hands. This is a very exciting artistic place, and your economical story poem, is an impressive entry in the contest, well done, good luck, blessings, Roy
