NIcely metered and rhymed poem about what should be everyone's muse, at one time or always. Just allowing other things to give her a holiday.
I do take walks to look around and find things that help me think of similes and metaphors.
Congrats on the win

She's my Muse, too, but I never put it as well as this! I love Nature and I love this poem. Even the image is perfect. My heart sang when I read "apt to scribble smiles"...a wonderful poem. Thanks for sharing.

Nicely done! I loved your muse, Mother Nature. Nature can be the most serene states for writing. Often times, when I can't concentrate on a plot line or a character, I'll go outside and write about nature instead. The mind calms and I am ready to try again.
with glist'ning eyelids damp with dew.
A flash of sunshine in her smile ' I loved these lines.
Take care,
Russell

Thanks for reading, Russell, and for pointing out which lines you liked the most. I, too, use nature to inspire me when I am struggling with my novel. Rod

Rod,
You and your muse have composed a fabulous entry
for that writing prompt. I too am inspired by nature.
I enjoyed your lovely imagery, alliteration, rhyme
and metaphors in this poem.
"An entourage of birds she brings:
a flock of sparrows, doves galore,
shy yellow finches, cardinals.
These friends, of course, make me write more."
I really liked those above lines and can relate
to them as well. I consider them friends as well.
Best wishes in the booth,
Linda

Congratulations on your well deserving win! You have personified Nature so well in the lines which flow smoothly in rhymes. Your muse is truly extraordinaire; it wants to pick up your pen and write and not to sleep at night.
