Hi Kim :)
I very much enjoyed your prologue....so THAT's how to write an Abecedarian poem - you did a great job! I love your warm and engaging tone.
A smooth and enjoyable rhymed poem, nicely presented with bonus information in the author notes. Thank you for that, I found it really interesting :)
Good luck with the challenge!
Kindest regards as always, Debra :)

Your ABCdarian is a WOW, Kim. And you made it rhyme. Such an enjoyable sendoff for the NaPoWriMo. You mention several different poets, above. Diversified poetry styles find appeal to a wide range of readers and lures from all walks of life who enjoy poems from the ridiculous to the sublime. Marilyn

Hi Marilyn,
What would be better at a party than to engage this diverse field of poets in conversation? It is going to be a fun month! :) Thanks for the fantastic review!

This is an excellent invitational opening to Poetry month Kim, and I'm sorry that I won't be able to take up the challenge this year. I loved the way you've bought in the historic poets with this lovely abc poem. Perfect artwork it all works well. A great read, and good luck with it all.
cheers,
valda.

Well look at you all fancy like... knocking out all the letters in the alphabet! I'm a huge fan of Chaucer, actually... so this was fun and yeah, I think you knocked it out of the park!
Well done Kim!

Thanks, Cat!
I bought a book at the used book store titled, "Poet's Corner." It gives some great background info on the featured poets and examples of their work. I'm reading and writing, and using the extra details in the author notes... it will be fun to learn new things along with the writing aspect :)
Thanks for the great review.

Nice prologue to your month of poetry - I wish I could join in but I'll be there in spirit with all of you working on the challenge!
I see this is another of your acrostics, and I can see that I'll be enjoying them very much this month...and beyond, of course. Love the nod to Davie Bowie at the end - always loved his music!

Hi Carol,
I just had to throw some contemporary in with the classics for my Bash of the Centuries :) It will be quite the party. I hope you enjoy the poetry that ensues! Thanks for the great comments.

:-) How fitting that you start this project with the ABC's of poetry ;-)
(not to mention the first of the greats interred in Poet's Corner at Westminster
Abbey)
Thanks so much for sponsoring this project :-)
(I just hope my muse has the necessary endurance!!!)

I enjoyed your poem. Your format choice for this is super. I liked reading about each 'thing' for each of the letters. Your notes are awesome, too. You even gave us rhyme. Good job. Your lines flowed smoothly which is not easy to do in the format. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes in the contest. But we are all winners since those who are writing a poem a day, are challenging themselves to become better.

Hi Kim,
This six is for all the energy you have as you begin this month long challenge. I wish you well with it, and I look forward to reading your daily presentations :)
I write and post every day, but due to the death of my father-in-law I need some time to hang back. The memorial is Tuesday, so we have family times leading up to that. I'll try to write and post when I can. My focus is elsewhere.

Hi Joy!
What sweet sentiment behind that 6. I know your family is struggling with this blow. I'm wishing you all the best and my thoughts are with you. Take care and thank you for your kind comments. I truly appreciate you.

Hi there,
Now that is a particularly impressive bit of poetry. I like these and have done a couple myself but nothing as involved and superb as this one is. Although I have studied a bit of Chaucer at school and Uni.
Very nice

Hi G-Man!
I am truly honored by your six shiny stars. Thank you so much for the exceptional comments. I hope you'll join in the party as we celebrate National Poetry Writing Month! This contest (if everyone completes their 30 poems) will add 540 works of poetry to the site, plus 18 prologues. I'm thrilled!
I started with Chaucer as a tribute to him for being the Father of English Lit :) And where better to start than with the A, B, C's?
Thanks for stopping by!

What a fantastic opener this is to the festive month.
I am looking forward to meeting your "guest" poets from the poetic halls of fame. I wonder what Chaucer would have made of a haiku?
I think Keats was riddled with more than just grief actually, so handle him with care and wash your hands afterwards. Some of those so called "romantics" got a shade too romantic for their own good. Lol.

Hi! :)
I don't think Chaucer could have managed to say, "Hi," in a verse as short as haiku! lol And, Keats died at 25, so he's way too young for me anyways ;) I'm working on a hockey banquet for our college players today, boys his age and just a shade younger lol kids in my mind. I'm so happy you are joining the party! We'll have to listen close and see what pearls of wisdom I can glean from the greats!
