Hi Mikey,

Another stonking effort here.
The interwoven thoughts and movements of the language are expressive simple and yet complicated. It sounds right - if that makes sense. I don't pretend to fully comprehend the nuances of the entire piece, but it feels good.

Great stuff
G

This is an unusual cocktail of words. I will have to read this several times to comprehend something that I may have missed. Impressive vocabulary of words which is hard to duplicate, I do like this very much. Seems... you are connecting to your spiritual world, your transcending soul, your God side. I can not say enough about the unique twist of words that stand out, words like venom, garrotes, fickle. BOO

yep, I liked it, bro. I will be back, I'm working an another synopsis about a Shinto/Kami cult and this is about a real cult in a Japanese village. I got a friend that went there, spooky stuff, they tried to recruit me, haha, also, the queen of teh vilage tried to get me as a husband, I had five years to become a KAMI, which is like a GOD, not me, her name is Hubuki, I got out of the arrangement. Burannko will send me info about the cult from the village in japan, he went back home to japan, the village. My buddy Hazard been to the village, they gave him a sword named Shadow, he said that he was cursed and he has nightmares. Yep, they tried to deceive me but there is only one transcender and that is God, rest is of the antichrist, I mucked up with Hubuki and made a promiss i could not keep. Yep, it will be a novel on a true story but I can not tell where it is and I have to change the names. They live in the mountains, they a cult, a group of 26 families, they live like the Omnish, I bullshit you not.

The soul speaks and the heart and mind listens and all a moment is known certainty [This is my favorite line in this poem.] Not that I didn't enjoy the entire poem. I did. Happy New Year.

Of all the tremendous thoughts this poem holds in store for the reader, there is one that will stick in my mind.
the well intentioned kiss, gentle though it may be, can sting, if it is places on a bruise or an injury. That is so true.
Your verses are very proverbial in their flow.
I enjoyed the poem and will revisit it from time to time as I can.
Thank you for sharing,
Carolyn

It's my last six and I'm glad you're back, Michael. I too am struggling with posting as much as I have. I've come out of retirement and have four new clients. So much for time to write. Your poem spoke to me because of the words we can use to heal or hurt. I know that the one who is the caretaker of my soul is so intimate that I hold her name as too sacred to say. I appreciate your post and I hope it won't be the last. -Bill

Great insights as always. Wow. Out of retirement. What a change of direction. Such are the times. I was hoping to be sitting around writing full time by now. :)) Stupid world and responsibilities!!!
I'm going to try and post no more than I can manage to follow through with responses and reviews. I got totally buried last year. Great to hear from you. mikey

The body is human and is fallible. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very sensitive read. There is very good imagery.

A word once spoken, a bruise once raised
can be softened, but never fully removed
If the heart and mind fling arrows
they may wound and heal
If the soul sling arrows
the wounds can never be repaired
Scars seal hard
bind things in and out
Listen well before
or there may not be an after
Six healing stars
that send only light, beauty and promise

This is a very original piece of poetic writing. You have a lot of things to think about here on this outstanding piece of poetic art. I liked everything about this piece of poetry. It gave me pause to think on the depth of its thoughts. This was well worthy of all six stars awarded here... John

What comes to mind upon reading this brilliant work is the complicated language of love. Finding someone who can speak to your heart and understand and help to heal the battered and bruised pieces while still taking the time to understand your unique language of the heart and soul, baring all to one another, feeling naked and exposed. That is when the unintended hurt comes I think. This is a fantastic piece! I hope you don't stop posting!!!

but hearts are healing places
and wounds in the most delicate places
heal slowly and scars impede
a smooth touch confused by resistance
~This is my favorite part! What truth you speak!

Thank you for sharing! Happy writing!

Whether you continue to post or not is of course entirely your own affair. But I will fan you here so I don't get to miss anything else you do.

On first reading I found this a difficult poem to comprehend on a word for word basis so I did what I always do in such circumstances, refrain from comment and let it lie awhile. Such poetry always becomes clearer after it has been absorbed.

On revisiting it I found it resonating with me much better as I was able to identify with one whose words have, unintentionally in the past, and in quarters where I would rather they hadn't, stung like your "most well intentioned kiss" because I must have applied them to some unrecognized bruise.

For me this poem, made up of course of words, is all about words and what can happen to them in inapproriate hands or rather on inappropriate lips.

I am so glad I came back to this, Mikey, because had I castigated it as incomprehensible, I might otherwise have correctly been categorized as "the empty well" in which "venom forms". There is no venom in me here. This is a poem I was at first unsure of and later came to admire.

A very happy New Year to you.

I can't tell you how delighted I am you spent the time with this. I'm not surprised. I often read your reviews which is a good way to learn new things around here. In spite of all the silliness of the place, many of us have a serious writer underneath and the hope that another serious writer will take a moment to truly read and contemplate what we write. You always do this. That's what keeps a lot of us here. A writer like you makes this all worthwhile. Thank you so much for the awesome and thoughtful review. Hoping you have an amazing 2016. mikey
