Bravo Missy! I would of given you a six for this one, but don't have any available.
I'm so happy for you! I can hear your emotions and enlivened feelings through your words. I can just see you opening the mailbox and holding onto the card with trembling hands. I know your heart was pounding for joy when you opened the card. Puts a smile on my face this morning to read such happy feelings.

Shana, I was not the one opening the envelope. It was my friend and his love. But, thank you for seeing what I hoped was in the poem :)
Sorry it took me forever to reply :(

Oh, well it was romantic. :)

A lovely read, dear friend. I have made it a habit to read as many poems and works as I can, and have time to, regardless of the reward. After all the reward is in the emotions and feelings conveyed in the writing. Cheers.

You've done a good thing here, Missy. I always like the sound of romance for the young oldies, and the oldies. Love shouldn't be apportioned just to the young, and people our age can get just as giddy over new relationships as the young 'uns can. I like the idea of the card being the stimulus of felt memory and the anticipation of unknown, yet to be revealed, experiences is quite palpable within the poem. I agree with Jumbo on the changes he suggests. Another romantic poem to bring the tears and make hearts go all a'flutter. Well done.

Our sweet little match maker. Sweet poem for a new blooming love affair. Good got you to work to get these two together by your encouragement. I get excited when people make a true connection.
Don't you dare apologize for what you offer in money. I have reviewed many a two center and enjoyed them all the same.
Good poem i know she appreciates it.

Fan bucks don't make anything more appealing to those who have already experienced reading words of the heart, so passionate and expressive. Thanks for another fine read. :-)

I hope I can bring a smile to someone's face every day for the rest of my life, but it still won't make amends for the tears I've caused. You make me smile! :-)

Hey Missy,
F/S bucks are for those who wish to further their own needs... and not needed by those who would read your work just for the sake of knowing your heart... the reward is indeed the words and sentiment in the way the poem moves the reader by what is contain within its story... now, on saying that... I ran to my mail-box thinking I might just be the lucky recipient, but alas, the mail hasn't yet been delivered... ah, I jumped ahead of myself... It has already been delivered to the rightful owner... and I'm truly glad it was... and seriously... I thought the poem was a very beautiful thing... to relay actual feelings and sensations through the first stanza like that was always going to make this reader keep reading, keep myself locked within the closeness of the emotion that poured forth... had me envisioning holding that envelope, pulling close to my chest, lifting it up, smelling the scent of the memory that was held in my heart... living the seconds until it became a reality... yes, a very visual write indeed... something that just left the taste lingering in your mouth long enough to savour every magic moment.
Not only did I love the soft touching way you wrote every word, the poetic justice within your notes took this story and the value of what you wrote to a whole new level of magic.
What a truly lovely story and outcome... and you, a friend who gets to see the fruits of her loving-caring desires come to life in her friends eyes and hearts... no better feeling or reward. Yes, you are a friend that any person would be so lucky to have in their lives... your heart is a truly beautiful thing and deserves to repaid in full, with nothing but the abundance of an everlasting harvest of desires already sown and contained within your being.
Suggestion?
Waiting to tear it open
See what you had sent...
What you had said?
It's been two months
My body aches for you...
My mind cries
(love that!)
Faith
in each other...
Our rock
So I guess it's just a construction thing of how you want it read... I find the pause then the statement works more effectively, but it's just my opinion, and well, only a nit-pick at something that doesn't take away for the intent of the words...'cause there are some very special moments contained in these words... my favorite...
Feel the memory of you
Smell the fragrance of your skin, still fresh in my mind
It's been two months
My body aches for you...
My mind cries
Yes, a truly beautiful and touching write Missy-Missy-Matchmaker.
With our thoughts we create,
melded minds-melded bodies
and each other,

You suggest 3 lines instead of 2? I will look and see how it looks on the page :)
Thank you for this supremely written review. I am at somewhat of a loss as to how to respond with seeming to ramble or gush!
You're a blessing to this ol girl, I tell you that, for sure :)

I live vicariously through my friends love lives :)

Now, wait just a minute, Missy. This is a poem you wrote for two FaceBook friends you helped get together so a romance could blossom. Is that right? So you are a surrogate poet in this scenario. You write a beautiful poem, filled with promise, then assurance. Then you had to go and give that romance to a couple of others?

Hello :)
I really like A Love Opened. Heartfelt free verse poem about a post card you received from your good friend. It sounds like you are in love and it is reciprocal. Awesome presentation. Good job!

It was written for a friend and his lady friend(who also happens to be my friend).
Thank you, Gypsy, for reading and reviewing this so sweetly for me :)

Your friends are very lucky to have you as a friend.
This is a delightful poem and a pleasure to read
It sings with time, patience, faith and love
Like some enchanted evening
from an old movie come true
Beautiful presentation with both pictures
and the matching pink font
Very well done
