Missy, this is lovely and also sad. You are looking for the everlasting passion in love. I don't think it just like that. But a warm loving and lasting relationship is certainly possible. It has to be nourished though. I enjoyed reading. A really beautiful poem. All best. Ulla

Possibly Ulla, but not what I see and feel at this point in my life. Tired of trying ... just settle I guess. Now, I just write my dreams :)
Thank you, sweetie, for the lovely and kind review.
Always,
Missy

I think it is a poem and a sad little one at that. I wish your hart had also told you to put an appropriate word in capitals under the second stanza too. Perhaps moving the EVERYNIGHT to the bottom of S2 and putting TONIGHT under S1 or maybe the other way around - but I'm not your heart.

OUCH. This poem addresses an all-too-common ailment in many relationships after "the bloom is off the rose". (See - your artwork is chosen well! It's beautiful, but fitting too.) I also enjoyed the flow - this free verse sounds very natural when read aloud.

I thought this was lovely. I don't know what make a poem and what doesn't I just try to rhyme and I call it a poem, lol.
It's always scary when that spark starts to fade. But companionship is often times the next step in the evolution of love. It's not the exciting part but its the glue that binds two people together. But you have to rekindle that spark often enough not to get stuck in the friendship zone.

Grrrr the friendship zone... I have plenty of friends, but it is not what I desire in a partner. :)
Thanks hon for the splendid review :)

This is nicely written and very touching. It is difficult to keep that fire burning over a long period of time. Good job.
Take care.

Aw, a very touching poem, Missy. Certainly the subject's decision isn't one that makes rational sense, but then poetry is of the feelings, even when feelings counter with reality.
Good job, my friend.

This is a lovely free verse. You can never go wrong when speaking from the heart and this stirring in the sincerity of its delivery. Nicely done and I thank you very much for sharing it.
