Very well written. A brief saunter into the past can be very enlightening to what one will do in the future. It gives us a perspective that we can work with and use as a guiding light. Enjoyed it very much.

Reflections on a past that is long vanished can only resurrect bad memories. There is no need if the present is full of positive thoughts, and with the knowledge that God is protecting you. Excellent rhyming with a good message. Faye

This is simply beautiful, Roy. It is a beautiful expression of personal faith as well as a perfectly rhymed and metered poem. I had a small issue with punctuation, but that's easily remedied. In the first verse, I'd put a period or a semicolon after blight. In the third verse, I think there should be a period after "hold."
This verse I think should be punctuated differently too... unless perhaps I'm not familiar with the rules in Australia?? If they are different, please forgive me.
For no dark past can ransom me
nor can it have its way, (period here)
I hold to truth, assuage the night, (semicolon here)
the dark cannot pierce day.
This verse is perhaps my favorite though I loved the entire poem. I just love how you express things. "The dark cannot pierce day" is especially powerful, and also profound. This is just a beautiful, and publishable poem. Have you sent this to a magazine? If not, you should.

Punctuation is not my strength Adonna, so I do appreciate the help, if you could do me a favour and cut and paste and message me with the adjustments, I would really appreciate it. As for promoting, like my music, I have no confidence in it, so I don't promote it. Failure still haunts me. But thanks for your kindness, blessings, Roy.
