Oh Deb's. I wish one day you could meet my mother. She was an absolute tyrant with me, and I'm still wary of her now when she gives me one of her icy stares.
A different woman completely with the bairns. They can do no wrong in her eyes.
It has to be a Granny thing. Like plotting their revenge to make us suffer.

I know exactly what you mean. We had a friend who had young children, and every time they stayed with their grandparents, he'd ask the grandparents, "You gave them sugar again, didn't you?"

5-7-5 are my favorite to write but when reading some poets poems, I get lost. This was perfect. Point well made and oh how true it is. I feel the frustration, this made me smile.

Actually, sugar does not provide a "sugar high", I think it all the "sweetness" grannies provide with their attention and letting the kiddies get away with murder. Good one.

Cheers granny :) Not all grannies are equal in their sweetness! Anything in moderation is good, even sweets!Too many though, and it's either a hyper kid or a sick bucket is needed.... Granny should know better by now. Lol! Thank you for your great feedback :) kind regards, Debra

I guess most grandparents spoil the kids, Debs, and don't think of the health or 'buzz' consequences regarding sugar.
