Yours is a sad story -- and well told, Alice. I can only imagine how many people this happened to after the economic downturn. Sounds like he was living very well (maybe too well) for a while. Suicide was the only way out.
Your words flow well -- with perfect rhyming. I wonder why you didn't make four-line stanzas? It might be an easier read, although the way you've written it is really fine.
Well done! Take care. Alana

Such a sad tale of a man who died and no one seems to know what happened. There was great flow and rhyme. This keeps the reader intrigued and tells the story well.

Hi, Alice,
Wow, what a sad tale this is. The perfect photo to give that eerie feeling of how Hunter may have met his demise.
Well written--such smooth read.
Cheers & Blessings
Keep Smilin'... Jax (*:*)

If this was a contest entry, you would have won. A sad true story put into poetry. You did a good job with the wording and rhyming, and was a pleasure to read. Jeanne :-)

good use of abcb rhyming
good alliteration in phrasing like basement bar
he couldn't bare to tell his girl - bear
a tragic story representative of the story of too many people defeated by corporations, banks and econonomic forces beyond their control

A tale of life told in poetic rhyme, that
flows down the screen, much like the
water at the river's edge, here today,
gone tomorrow
Well done

The inspiration we writers find in songs amaze me. The last chapter I was working on in my book had me singing "American Pie" by Don Mclean. This was a great poem/story. and yes I could hear Bob Dylan singing about Hunter as well.
