You really grabbed my attention with this one. As I read on, I immediately thought of Dean. He is truly a genius and a terrifically talented writer...I just love his work. You have done a superb job with this entry and I sincerely wish you all the best. Once again, you have not disappointed me with your excellent prose.

Thanks. There's a contest and believe it or not 10 people signed up to participate in the first hour. Should at least let him know there are people here who appreciate his talent and truly sick mind.

Now I understand why yours is the second post I've read about the irreverent and unholy scoundrel and friend, Dean Kuch.

You did a fine job with this, Ingrid. I didn't know until the very end the content of the present I was opening.

Exhibit A, my original trousers of the day. [Funny, funny line.]

Thanks, and I'm stunned that I got through without my usual litter of SPAG. Well, someone put up this contest and I think Dean has been underrated not just by the fans here, but by the editors that keep sending him rejection letters.

It was a fun write and I enjoyed participating in this contest.

And you're right about the trouser line--finding a delicate way to say 'I shit myself' was high on my list or creative effort..

You are too funny, Ingrid. Limned in the truest delicacy! Merry Christmas.

This work has reached the exceptional level

First and foremost, the writing is spectacular and flawless. The language and phrases used kept the reader on the edge of their seats. Wow. Not sure Dean Kuch will be welcome on my computer screen again. LOL Maybe he's the virus my computer has been battling. Thanks for the warning.

I just checked out 'the poem of the month' that he won. It is fabulous. I know he'll make it. A multi-faceted writer and an exceptional talent. Writing this was my fun and the stars are sincerely appreciated.

Made me chuckle in several places. I liked how you compared your fanstory friends to elder statesmen, wanting to keep the upstart in his place. LOL! We have elevated Dean to a whole new level with this contest. Let's hope it prods him into getting paid real money in lieu of all these accolades. You've done well getting into the spirit of the contest. Dean is surely an advocate of the macabre. Good luck in the contest.

He is one of the rare ones on site who has invested a great deal of time trying to get published in the real world. Confidentiality prevents me from saying how many rooms in his house are lined with rejection letters, but it is only a matter of time and the right fit before he does get published and earns real money for his work.

The contest is a fun way of throwing some support his way and I'm happy to participate.

It's a tough market, and that's for sure. Almost as hard as breaking into Hollywood. It takes both fortitude and rare talent, and even then it's a crapshoot. Editors and publishers are not easily impressed.
