Great chapter. I especially liked Valerius going to the old lady, giving her respect, and in turn learning a great deal of medical knowledge. To quote Archie Bunker, Those were the days.' Back when knowledge passed from person to person through conversation. Too bad teaching isn't still done that way, instead of this fast food, rubber stamp, get them out the door method we have today. I would love to see more chapters of him learning more from the old woman. Making mistakes, having stuff blow up in his face, I think that would be a hoot.
And I definitely see a stake burning in Julia's future.
You've gotten me hooked again. Now let's see where you take this one.

Sometimes there are such simple explanations for seemingly complex matters. Wise women who understood the use of herb lore were treated as witches. Knowledge is always scarey to people who don't have it.....education is always the way forwards. I see an interesting story about to unfold here!

Interesting stuff here for both Vi and Sam. Julia recalls past lives in other bodies, but doesn't understand what's going on... or does she?

Wow! This is some powerful writing, Mikey. Julia reminds me of the old Beatles song, "Fool On the Hill". There is always something spiritual about the innocent and innocent about the spiritual.
