Or even the tomes of Stephen King could fill the bill. They may be over worked, but I'm sure their bank accounts are well compensated. Interesting thoughts in a poem. Good stuff there, Spitfire.

I had forgotten that King wrote some long books. The Stand for one. As for a paycheck, what good is all that money if you don't have time to spend it?

It's going to be one heck of a lo-ong wait, isn't it?

The term overworked dictators has a sardonic sort of flavor to it.

I waited so long once- at least two hours. Seems the doctor had forgotten me!

Hi, Shari.
This is so funny! I burst out laughing reading your last line. Part of the problem is a shortage of doctors and a high demand of patients. Still, so frustrating having to wait for hours for a fifteen minute appointment.
Bye
Rosalyne :)

What's worse, my hubby leaves early so we'll be ten minutes or more ahead of time. (He insists on driving me everywhere--no annoying)

This work has reached the exceptional level

This was funny, my husband says patients usually wait 2 hrs to see him, but he is spends time and is an excellent internist. xo

Thanks for the exceptional rating, joann. I suppose it's worth it if the doctor can really help.

Great one with another clever ring. I do so enjoy your writes.
Why don't you do a collection for publishing? There is a world out there you know though some think FS is it. Smiles, Robin :)

I will make a collection someday. Right now, I'm reworking my short bios on me and on my handicapped nephew.

Well God speed and good luck. I'm rewriting Harford Road which I have thrown out most of it and only kept a few chapters. A challenge. Smiles, Robi :)

War and Peace would beat "Web MD." This is amusing and whimsical. Reminds us of the long time we have to wait in the doctor's office. What a great way for people to donate their used books. The library always receives more than enough used books for their book sales. I would suggest plenty of paperback romances. Some women wouldn't want to leave. judi

Great idea, judi. I see a few in restaurants like Perkins and Golden Corral, some free, other fifty cents. I donate a lot to the library. You're right about romances although I've always shunned them. Rather do it than read it. :-)

Books do tend to multiply. I still buy books even though I use my Kindle a lot. Goodwill takes used books, DVDs, etc. sells them on the internet. judi

War and Peace would be a definite choice for "waiting" room. I am not sure if doctors are overworked or "overbooked." A long wait either way. 8-)

I like that and may change it, BG, That seems more to the truth and gets in a good pun too. Thanks. (assuming you don't mind my stealing your great idea)

I stumbled on it and after I sent it, I was hoping you would like it. 8-)

Overpaid in many cases too, Shari.

Excellent satire as the docs are too busy stocking the books ('war and peace' LOL) to attend to the patients.

Cheers, Ray xx

I was thinking that. Would certainly interest me more than War and Peace which I confess I've never read.

Interesting, yet your meaning, I think, is obvious. Doctors, so overbooked that it takes them a long time to see their waiting patients. Therefore, a very long novel like War & Peace is needed to keep them occupied. Ha. This is cute, and true, my friend. Great thinking.

Always with respect,
