gorgeous presentation of your poem, which is in good haiku form
great alliteration in snake slithers/scorching/sands/sidewinder
vivid descriptive detail with strong sensory appeal, not limited to the visual

I thought a side winder was a windup doll with the winder on its hip. These 17 word nearly poems should require only 17 words in a review.

This is what I would class as a hidden missile in this competition, it's like the Mother in Law, you know she's coming, but there's nothing you can do about it! Great haiku my friend, good luck in the contest.

This bad boy is bugging in a hurry. Must be someone wanting a good meal. Great eating with lots of catsup. Good luck in the contest.

Thanks. Don't know how they taste , probably better with ketchup. They do move very fast and are poisonous so it's best to let a professional catch it. Appreciate your comments ... ;)

Good entry of the contest with a bonus of abundant and artistic alliteration and consonance of S, which is esssspecially befitting, as the sibilant s sounds SOUND like the snake hiss. Superb word economy, too, with a clever single-word satori. Fine presentation as well. Bravo and good luck!

Warmly, rd

I like and don't like snakes. I had a pet snake for a little while. I was ok with it but I made to feed it mice and scared the snake or the mice might get out. Enjoyed the poem.
