a severe case of Haemorrhoids with chili added to it? Jayz, I wouldn't want to be in Howard's place for the tastiest chow down.
At first I'd though he met a bunch of nettles behind that bush, hahahahaaa!

A very well-written humorous story. It is hilarious how fast things can turn into something unexpected when a family and friends gather for some fun.

Ah! Butt burn from eating too many chillie peppers.
Howard = how would
I'm glad for the author's notes, I might not have picked up on that one.
It sounds like a tall fishing tale that could be true.

Yes mate I have been friends online with this man's widow for many years. I wish I could get her on FS she has n=so many good stories to tell. Thanks for the great review. I just went in and changed the spelling of Chili as someone said only one "l" but again I guess that depends on where you live, ha.

Hi, Geoff
= LOL ... this is one of those stories years later can be funny for the party involved.
= However, at the time---not so funny. Cute story.

Thanks Sis. I have known this man's widow for years. Been trying to get her on FS as I know she has a heap of interesting stories to tell. She is a "Southern Belle" from la. We go back a long way on line. Thanks for the review, I agree not funny at the time...but it certainly gives all his family and friends a laugh these days.

Hahahaha! G'day cobber.
Very funny stuff. The old fish camp tales always go down a treat. Some of us Aussies just get ourselves into these situations, but they remain entertaining and stretched for years to come.
The picture has gone AWOL.
Well done.
Cheers Fez

Yeah mate I knew the picture had left I might try and see if the owner is still on Fanart, probably not as is often the case when the pictres disappear.
-
Ah, is that what happens? I've wondered for years why sometimes the pictures disappear. Thanks for clearing that up.

I needed a good laugh especially since it is based on a true story. I did not anticipate the punch line, which proves you are a good storyteller. I also appreciated the wordplay in the title. Cheers- Joan

Thanbks Joan. Been friends online with this dear man's widow for years. They survived Rita and Katrina...a lot more can be told about that he was terminally ill during that time as well. Trying to get his widow on FS as she has heaps of stories to tell. Thanks again.
-
I hope that you are successful in getting her to join Fanstory and that, between the two of you, more of their stories will be told. Smiles- Joan

Thanks Debbie, not sure we have met yet. Will reciprocate as soon as possible. Have been friends with dear man's widow for a long time online. I wish I could get her on FS. I know she has much to share.

Congratulations on getting recognized for your telling of this story.
I would bet Howard isn't telling it, though, unless he went to the doctor for some relief and had to confess. The doctor is probably still chuckling.
At any rate you described it well - poor guy. Sure not funny yo him.

Hi new friend guessing English and loving "Pomes" hehe poems. Dear Howard's widow has been a long time friend who I hope we can convince to get on FS and share some of her stories. Maybe if she likes I can tell folks in here about her. Hope to keep in touch. .Hi from Australia..
-
yep, my "pome" is just my silliness.
Hope your friend will join FS. I really enjoy it, except it takes up too much of my time - I could sit here all day on it. I love "talking" to people from all over the world with so many different outlooks on things. Absolutely fascinating.
goodbye from Texas to Australia!

Katherine, are you on Facebook? I am not real happy about everything on FS but I did find it 4 years ago on Facebook.
-
I don't really go on facebook unless somebody I know tells me to go there to look at something. I used to like to put pictures and poems on there, but now don't know how to put pictures and do all the new technical stuff, so don't usually go there.
Fan Story has strange rules, but I have to admit I love the people I hear from and I enjoy reading some of the posts. And the contests are fun.
-
OK well I fanned ya anyway. Glad you are up on FS's strange ways. I avoid the contests same people win 'em a lot of the time.
-
what do you mean? I fanned you, too.
-
Sorry I think we got our wires crossed somewhere yeah I know we fanned each other thanks muchly so where are you USa or Old Country? (Britain?)
-
you must not be getting my answers.
I am in Texas!
-
No worries understood. In a bit of a flap here today as I am expecting my wife home from Hospital. I will be writing another chapter to my biography "Little Dog That Wouldn't Let Go" about the last 11 weeks of my wife being in Hospital.
-
oh - I hope she does well at home. Know you're glad to have her back.
I look for ward to "Little Dog".

Thanks sis I hope some day you get to meet this wonderful man's widow. Trying to get her on FS to share her myriad of stories.
Comment from Sis Cat
Now that's a story worth retelling! Howard forgot about the chili pepper in the fat. This is a humorous anecdote that grabbed my attention and held it as you told your too-goo-to-be-true story that had a funny punchline in the end, so to speak.
The only spelling error is that "chili" has one L.
Thank you for sharing your story which made me smile.
