I love this story and how well you prepared it for us ...
Jonah was trying to run away from God...this is a good lesson for this age...I think there are many Jonah's running around....you can tell they have whale spit on them:o)

That is funny, whale spit. I have a feeling if some got swallowed the Lord would just let them stay there. LOL I appreciate your fine comments and so glad you liked Jonah.

Carolyn, a truly dignifying and inspirational along with stimulating piece of poetry with a good moral and with an excellent proverbial context. Your rhyming was exceptional in your couplets and neither of them were forced, labored or strained all over some of your rhythm even though it was good need a little bit more or better tempo or meter if that's what you are looking for. Your interpretation of Jonah and the well was most humanizing and artistic and description and imagery was exceptional. Thanks for sharing and posting and may you have a good one.

Carolyn, a truly dignifying and inspirational along with stimulating piece of poetry with a good moral and with an excellent proverbial context. Your rhyming was exceptional in your couplets and neither of them were forced, labored or strained all over some of your rhythm even though it was good need a little bit more or better tempo or meter if that's what you are looking for. God really humbled Jonah and that helped him come back to his sences and he started to trust God and obeyed him. very nice poem of Jonah well done

This is a very interesting take on the Bible story in poetic form. There is a moral in the tale for all of us. We must trust in God and believe that we can achieve the impossible. That's the way that I am trying to live my life.

In life, many get to do unusual and difficult jobs too.
I know someone here who works in the Hospice - a dreary and hopeless place where some patients await their deaths.
In such a deplorable and live-less place, who can stand working in such conditions?
But God had a special mission for them. To help those in pain get over their grief. She had to smile for them despite her own problems.
My friend and i have over 25 stray cats and kittens in the house and is still counting. Are we destined by God to save this poor helpless creatures? If so Why did i get a skin allergy, possibly from the strays. Should I then abandon them and put all of them to sleep for my own sake. I could not and God will not either. If I turned my back now, what will God tell me later or maybe put me in another whale's mouth, smiles?
Just follow our hearts and God will be with us all the way. Now into the sixth month of my allergy, the skin rashes are clearing fast and healing well. Should I complain to God - nope, not once did i pray for His help.
Now we have just just mated our pussy Garfield cat after 4-5 unsuccessful attempts as house cats may not know the exact mating game, lol.
Don't worry, rashes cannot kill me and neither should i fret because God has a kind heart for me now. Within those six months of suffering He rewarded me many times over and that's the truth. And what did the Bible said? Smiles.
If anyone believe that God has something for them to do, just do it irrespective of the fear and consequences - go with your heart.
Sorry for this rant but my true story will reinforced what you have written here, smiles.
